November. 25

-13 Celsius run at Nicholas Sheeran w- two walks

After my run πŸƒ‍♂️ this morning.

I run this morning around Nicholas Sheeran pretty chilly πŸ₯Ά I ran without the dog this morning due to the weather not being fit for a dog. Also the dog is quite different to run with. If it were to be off leash it’d be better more enjoyable I figure.

For the dog and me that is less stopping and yanking on her collar I figure so she never went for the run πŸƒ‍♂️ which was the longest out of the entire day activities.

I did visit two friends and drove with the dog to walk, I also met with my brother for coffee and he gifted me a pair of green pants. Green is my favorite color 😊

Did a 4 km run and two walks about 1 km each

Making good time in my Camino walk under my garmin app. Well I started in a small town in France called St Jean Pied de Port and crossed the Pyrenees, a mountain range. Through Roncesvalles, a monastery village, and have progressed to a village in Spain called Zubri. You’ve done well! See if you can locate these places on a map. I’m headed towards Pamplona!

Trying to do 50 km a week walking should be 15 weeks a few days til I do the entire walk

Cause of the cold weather Dixie is doing the best out of the leaderboard for November

We are up on rank way above average for the start of my time off. That’s fantastic.

Dixie sleep πŸ’€ is suffering, so has mine, but this weekend was busy

So far today has been a big success in steps start of the week is when I started my Camino walk and I’m still planning on making it a fun virtual trip.

Joe did gift a painting πŸ–Ό️ I thought was awesome 😎 it is the actual 🎨 painting not a copy of a painting πŸ–Ό️.

He’s a good 😊 friend.

It sounds like you had a productive and enjoyable day despite the chilly weather! Your 4 km run is impressive, especially in -13°C temperatures. It’s good that you made the decision to leave your dog at home this time; the cold can be tough on pets.

It’s nice to hear about your Camino journey! Starting in St. Jean Pied de Port and making your way through the Pyrenees must be an incredible experience, and reaching Zubri is a great milestone. Pamplona will be an exciting next stop!

It sounds like you’ve been keeping busy with social activities too. Meeting friends and family, and even receiving a thoughtful gift like green pants, must make your time off enjoyable. It’s nice to have a supportive friend like Joe who not only gifts you something unique but also appreciates your interests.

Team Dixie seems to be doing remarkably well too! It’s great to hear that both you and your dog are ranking high. Remember to take care of yourselves, especially with your busy schedule—getting enough rest is important.

Missing James, I’d be walking twice as much with team Dixie if James were here, after walking with a couple of my friends just got missing him tonight

Walking and running over 55.8 km together for November so far still got a little less than a week left in November. Those are just the tracked activities the steps is way higher with work done ✅

Walking I’ve done 23.2 km

Running which I started very end of October but today in a new month, November is 22.6 km

Steps in November is good also at 229,674 total steps in the last four weeks which is really how the Camino is tracked. Which is a 176.333 km with my high stats just random counting with height and steps turned into km distance but this Garmin will calculate the cadence and stride of the the walk with gps. Although finding actual numbers is some what lost 😞 to me in the app.

Found the data πŸ“Š for the actual total km in steps I did and it’s another 22.3 km than originally thought πŸ’ with its Garmin calculations

At 198.6 km for four weeks of steps, Yahoo…. Which is about right 50 km per week,…

As such it be right about on track for reaching my goal on March. 5th to be finished ✅ by my calculations I would have done the Camino de Santiago

We are getting stretched with weather forecast seems out of the ordinary for November there saying. It’s warmer in Yellowknife than in southern Alberta

Celebrating Ten Years and Living My Best Life🧘‍♂️ A Quiet Day at Home

πŸŽ‰ Celebrating 10 Years Together Last night was a beautiful celebration of a decade spent with Kim. We marked our 10-year anniversary with a cozy dinner at The Keg, where I indulged in a hearty 20 oz steak and Kim opted for a more modest 8 oz cut. It felt so good to get out together and enjoy a special evening. We kept things simple—just water to drink, with fresh bread and salad to start. The atmosphere was perfect, and I soaked in every moment of our time together. We’re incredibly grateful for our families, who made the night even more special. My parents generously gave us cash to enjoy our dinner, and Kim’s parents gifted us movie money so we could extend the celebration. Their thoughtfulness reminded us how lucky we are to be surrounded by love and support. Family and friends made it sweeter We were so blessed by our families: my parents gave us cash to enjoy the night and Kim’s parents sent money for a movie treat. Our friends even gifted us a 20% tip card for the meal...

Gratitude, Good Food, and Good Books

A Thanksgiving weekend of family meals, long walks, and reaching 86 books this year Bryan and I headed out for a walk after he returned from his sister’s Thanksgiving gathering, settling into a steady 30‑minute pace that carried us just under 2 km. The air was crisp with a light breeze, the kind of weather that makes movement feel effortless. I’ve always loved these cooler temperatures—my body doesn’t have to work as hard, and the transition from “easy mode” into a gentle warm‑up felt natural. Carrying 30 pounds with me added that extra layer of challenge, but it blended seamlessly into the rhythm of the walk. We paused at a park bench along the way, taking a moment to sit together before snapping a photo. That small break reminded me how these walks are as much about connection as they are about distance or weight carried. The combination of fresh air, conversation, and the grounding presence of the season made the outing feel restorative. It wasn’t just a walk—it was a reminder...

Plus 12 Celsius Smoke run πŸƒ‍♂️

The dog and I decided to do either a 3 km run or a 6 km run or 9 km run hoping for 10 km but I couldn’t find the energy to push further. It is smoky out there you could smell it and breath it in. Made me in my threshold if I keep a higher pace than 9 minutes km Cooler morning,  I went and got a sausage homestyle biscuit from Tim’s and an ice coffee ☕️  Just getting my day started. I got a doctors appointment later today over the phone πŸ“ž also. Hoping to take the dog πŸ• for a run πŸƒ‍♂️ this morning but I’m stiff. So hopefully my coffee stop warms me up to get moving this morning. Or just caffeinates me. We managed to do 6.05 km in about 59 minutes. A high heart rate of 172 bpm and an average of 144 bpm. Plus 12 Celsius while I ran but I was in full sweating πŸ˜… by the time I got home 🏑. The last couple weeks I’ve had a low relative effort due to some family losses. But I manage to get out on a smoky day like today for a run. πŸƒ‍♂️  It’s been raining heavily the last...
