Rock hunting

Polishing rocks We get looking for rocks for the nephew and nieces to polish rocks with grandparents. As we're walking, a river is going to change in June, and rise. Even as today in May, mountain snow pack and warm weather we have been getting has risen a bit much more than May long last year. Dixie was whining all the way there.  Could help here self. And all the time we were walking would run down the river bank and rub back up to make sure the water was still by us. When we got down there by the river Dixie was in. Water dog 🐕 As we get looking for rocks we come across a garter 🐍 snake. Tried to take picture.  Dixie didn't even notice, she walked right by it not looked at what we were and never even gave it a second glance. To difficult getting a movie up from my phone.  So you can't see it slither on. After one few rocks we pick up we decide we have to leave some rocks behind. I think many had to make that choice cause all the nice rocks were at the entry gate ☺️😂

Water front property

We visit the In-laws  At their new parking spot for there trailer.  Kim was the first one to use the washroom.  Dixie went and jumped into the water right away. She dried off quick, and wanted to jump up.  As a wet dog.  So a few times was put on a short leash. Yet she ran around and Kim and I went for a walk around the pound.  Kim's parents are on strawberry 🍓 lane. I like my stools that I got for 🏕️ camping, Kim not so much.  Already she has a list for us. I find the way we sit in chairs is hard on chairs. Some I hear can keep chairs for 17 plus years.  Us on the other hand ☺️ not so much 😉. How we ended there after steaks with Kim tonight for her birthday dinner, which is sort of a week away. But with how busy it was decided to be tonight. Kim and I stopped at McDonald's on our way home, and spent $2.79 on one regular size cone for me and one kiddie cone for the dog 🐕. Kim didn't want one but since there was a bit of confusion with the ice cream in a cup.  We got t

Only 22 Planters

I get turning dirt A season has started. I got twenty two planters turned and have about another 2 planters that are not being used right now.  I'm unsure if I'll use them.   I do have a bit of dirt and compost left for them.  So I might get to it today. I spent $89 on flowers today. $70 on dirt. Still have last year's marigolds placed in a pot before I dug it in. Fixed up my last year planters that were falling apart.  Hopefully they last a bit longer.  There a bit more sturdy now. I got cover head to toe in dirt and ants crawling on me as one planter had an ants nest in it.   I mixed those ants into dozen other planters while turning dirt. Will see if they survive it or if I made a mistake to doing it that way. I'm excited to sit out front in the shade or when it's summer while my flowers are full bloom.  Hopefully I'll be having a cigar by them. My big porcelain ashtray broke this year.  Which I got quite disappointed about. Seems every day I'm getting

Pelican and gosling with geese

Walk in a morning Seeing pelicans and gosling with geese out in a lake was fun. My nephew walked Dixie for a bit, which was fun.  She has lots of muscle and could take the boy off his feet.  So we earned him about running with the dog 🐶. My mom and her grandson looked at a goose nest and her eggs that the goslings hatched out of. We walked around say a relative and her dog walking, I guess she is a walker as well. Met another neighbor and her baby walking Cola.  I knew Cola from Ryan walking about. Nice people, This morning for out on my walk done before 10. Dixie ran through a puddle as she came home.  So she got soaked.  And ran Laps around the house when we did get home. Over all the walk was enjoyable 🙂 with family and seeing relatives or neighbours with their dog 🐶. An good start of the week.  With these new restrictions that keep kids at home for a month.  A teacher's got to teach and have kids at home is a whole another hats off to the parents that can raise their kids

Birthday Dinner

A game of cards After supper we have 5 rounds of cards. Two bottles of sparkling juice. Kim while opening the second on must of shook it to much. When twisting it off it pops off hitting the roof and to the floor.  We both laugh, not to much, we are slacking in are carefulness by the second bottle. It's non alcoholic, so it's just the sugar high we are on, we can launch into laughter. Kim got flowers from her mom and dad. They came over after supper. Kim is in the photo below is Kim with her book she is reading, she got it for her birthday from her in-laws. My parents are really kind to us, and we visited shortly trading gifts. We play a few rounds. Dixie is not socializing she went to her kennel and hid. I wonder if she's not feeling to well. Maybe a longer walk. I cooked rouladin, it's streaked wrapped in bacon 🥓 and onions and sweet peppers.  I made extra for left overs.   Lots of food, the dog even got a slice which I think it was to much for her.  I think she fe

8 to nine walks

Dixie and I go for a walk Yes it's raining on and off, the wind is blowing and I am wearing 👂 ear plugs to stop the wind in my head. My walk graph that I'm trying for ten walks each week.  Missed it by two, but if I counted Kim's walk it's be one away from ten flags. The wind is blowing I cleaned the kitchen.  The inside of the house had not had a good clean for weeks.  I have been busy with a yard and building things and walking the dog 🐕. But we get out, last week we did about 3 hours of walking.  For the entire week. That may be low, no excuses. Dogs are lots of work.  Only eight walks for seven days plus add one walk Kim did while I was doing another job. So about nine walks last week. Start this Saturday on another walk it was low. Wind is blowing at least when it's raining the rain blocks some of the wind coming. Just makes slower blowing rain. 15 minutes I see a neighbor working on his yard.  It does make a person feel good working on there property. Toni
