Almost 5 km plus 5 Celsius

Dixie and I almost 😅 do five km

Dixie, I get running around going through some parks. I had to use my watch flashlight to get through. We saw some deer as we passed them.

We crossed the university, a fun time.  The lights on the road make an incredible impression after you’ve been running dark paths.

5:30 🕠 it’s pitch black out.

My laps going good, 😊 Dixie started getting tired and stopping more and my knees started to hurt.  😞 By the time we got home, but I could smell dog cause she was sweating. I was in a full-blown sweat when I got home.

🏡

Runtime was about 24 minutes and walk time was about 13 minutes a decent amount my max heart rate was 185 bpm,  my average heart rate was 153

Dixie has 19 more minutes to get her activity minutes to reach your goal. It’s early still 630 but it seems dark and late because it’s so dark.  We aren’t doing so well on the leaderboard for December either rank 30.  That’s for working in retail during Christmas.  🎄 Just got super busy

We’re only 2% above our breed so we’re kinda right in the middle as near being under our active goal

Overall, pretty good I got new running tights, Or compression pants I really enjoy running in them.  They make me feel fast. 💨 🏃‍♂️

Kim also gifted me a pair for Christmas, which was nice of her.  There for summer, they’re gonna be a little bit more cooler for the summer than winter. 🥶

I was asking for another pair for summer or spring and autumn 🍂

Kim and I have been kinda opening up presents early because I bought her a jacket and I want to make sure it fit in case I had to return it.  I did return some snow pants/bibs. 👖

Everywhere else it’s going to be a white Christmas but here it looks like it’s gonna be a brown Christmas. 🎄

This wind is gonna blow all this white snow gone here at least

It sounds like you had quite an eventful run with Dixie! Seeing deer while running through the parks must have been a nice surprise, especially with the added challenge of navigating in the dark. It's great to hear you're using a watch flashlight to stay safe.

It's understandable that both you and Dixie got tired; running in the dark can be a bit more challenging. Your heart rate stats indicate you worked hard—great job pushing through!

It's also nice that you got new running tights and that Kim gifted you a pair as well. It's always exciting to try new gear, especially when it makes you feel faster!

Good luck reaching Dixie’s activity goal and improving your leaderboard standing in December. It sounds like you’re putting in the effort, even with the holiday rush.

And I hear you about the weather! A brown Christmas can be a bit disappointing, especially when everyone else seems to be getting snow. Hopefully, the forecast surprises you! Enjoy your runs and the holidays with Kim!

Four weeks of being productive in my last two days have been peaking in my training status.

Originally, I was trying to do seven I was challenged to do 10 km today.  Although that would’ve taken double the time that I did today.

Garmin is usually a pretty accurate on when one would finish

And now I’m productive after my good run of almost 😅 5 km  I always like seeing that status rather than a plummeting to recovery ❤️‍🩹

Celebrating Ten Years and Living My Best Life🧘‍♂️ A Quiet Day at Home

🎉 Celebrating 10 Years Together Last night was a beautiful celebration of a decade spent with Kim. We marked our 10-year anniversary with a cozy dinner at The Keg, where I indulged in a hearty 20 oz steak and Kim opted for a more modest 8 oz cut. It felt so good to get out together and enjoy a special evening. We kept things simple—just water to drink, with fresh bread and salad to start. The atmosphere was perfect, and I soaked in every moment of our time together. We’re incredibly grateful for our families, who made the night even more special. My parents generously gave us cash to enjoy our dinner, and Kim’s parents gifted us movie money so we could extend the celebration. Their thoughtfulness reminded us how lucky we are to be surrounded by love and support. Family and friends made it sweeter We were so blessed by our families: my parents gave us cash to enjoy the night and Kim’s parents sent money for a movie treat. Our friends even gifted us a 20% tip card for the meal...

Gratitude, Good Food, and Good Books

A Thanksgiving weekend of family meals, long walks, and reaching 86 books this year Bryan and I headed out for a walk after he returned from his sister’s Thanksgiving gathering, settling into a steady 30‑minute pace that carried us just under 2 km. The air was crisp with a light breeze, the kind of weather that makes movement feel effortless. I’ve always loved these cooler temperatures—my body doesn’t have to work as hard, and the transition from “easy mode” into a gentle warm‑up felt natural. Carrying 30 pounds with me added that extra layer of challenge, but it blended seamlessly into the rhythm of the walk. We paused at a park bench along the way, taking a moment to sit together before snapping a photo. That small break reminded me how these walks are as much about connection as they are about distance or weight carried. The combination of fresh air, conversation, and the grounding presence of the season made the outing feel restorative. It wasn’t just a walk—it was a reminder...

Back in Stride: A Run Worth Celebrating

After seven weeks of setbacks and recovery, I laced up with Dixie and reclaimed my rhythm—3.64 km of steady effort, heart in the aerobic zone, and a reminder that progress starts with showing up. This afternoon, Dixie and I laced up and headed out for a run while the daylight was still holding on. It felt so good to be back out there after a bit of a break, moving at our own pace and enjoying the fresh air together. There’s something about running with Dixie that makes the effort lighter—her energy and joy keep me motivated, even when I’m easing back into the rhythm. At first, I thought about pushing myself to five kilometers, but I remembered the back pain I’ve been dealing with and decided to listen to the advice of my AI fitness coach: don’t overdo it on the first run back. That reminder helped me focus on the joy of the moment instead of chasing distance. Sometimes the smartest choice is to start slow, and today proved that pacing myself was exactly what I needed. The run en...
