A long walk for everyday for seven days with five different people

But chiller this morning for the walk

Kicking ๐Ÿฆต through the leafs, we were expecting rain but got lucky that it never started til we finished walking, ๐Ÿšถ‍♂️ Allyson is a pleasure to walk with, and we managed to get on a walk that we’ve been planning on going for months.

Dixie is doing great, last seven days she got a walk every day either twice a day or more.

We walk 2.8 km in about forty minutes, didn’t have Dog bags til a bit into and luckily she never went til we were a few steps away from the doggy bag box ๐Ÿ—ƒ️.

Dixie got her first good sleep ๐Ÿ’ค score in her seven days average that’s always positive. I’ve been watching her with the weather change as much as we watch ourselves and I think ๐Ÿค” we all get to have a bit of seasonal disruption when weather is changing for the year.

Dark days are tough in Canada ๐Ÿ‡จ๐Ÿ‡ฆ but we managed to get out on an adventure even with poorer weather that snow is going to happen in the afternoon.

Dixie is 48% above her dog breed. Happy to see this.

She is rocking the active minutes and still less interruptions in her sleeps and the beginning of the week, which is nice a little bit more from yesterday, but not as bad as the beginning of the week.

It’s good to see she’s Having better nights now.

We take a photo on the bridge ๐ŸŒ‰, the dog was happy ๐Ÿ˜ƒ and we were a bit cold ๐Ÿฅถ, I could imagine the dog was ๐Ÿฅถ cool but she never looked as if she was bothered by the temperatures.

After breakfast with my dad we, my watch says I’m over reaching still from yesterday walks-runs.

Dixie is having some great time on my days off. I think she really need some people home time.

A good ๐Ÿ˜Š day here, start of the week, and have a few more days off to finish cleaning ๐Ÿงผ.

And organizing my garage.

It sounds like you had a delightful walk with Allyson and Dixie! It must have been refreshing to enjoy the crisp morning air while kicking through the leaves. It’s great to hear that you managed to dodge the rain and that Dixie is doing so well, especially with her sleep score improving!

Taking the time to get outside and enjoy the changing seasons is so important, even when the weather gets colder and darker. It’s clear Dixie is thriving with all the walks and love she’s getting from you.

Organizing your garage sounds like a productive way to spend your days off—good luck with that! It seems like you’re balancing quality time with Dixie and taking care of your home nicely. Enjoy your time off!

We are rank 26 in October leadership board for Dixie and other local dogs in our area. I’m at 24 km walk in October and that’s near the top of all my months, I’m not even finished ✅ this month walks yet, feeling very accomplished so far for October.

✅ Just got the kitchen bathroom living room bedroom all vacuumed in the kitchen mopped and the front entryway mopped ✅

Now I’m interested in cleaning the garage to get vehicles ๐Ÿš— parked in it. And do dishes today.

My months of walks in km activities.
Now I don’t track every walk sometimes I forget to start some but today Allyson reminded to start my tracker.  So I thought ๐Ÿ’ญ I’d share some stats.

If you click on the blog and then the animal home value banner at the top it’ll go back to the main website to see the other blog posting in chronological order, usually the top three blogs post of the year are posted at the bottom of the page.

Celebrating Ten Years and Living My Best Life๐Ÿง˜‍♂️ A Quiet Day at Home

๐ŸŽ‰ Celebrating 10 Years Together Last night was a beautiful celebration of a decade spent with Kim. We marked our 10-year anniversary with a cozy dinner at The Keg, where I indulged in a hearty 20 oz steak and Kim opted for a more modest 8 oz cut. It felt so good to get out together and enjoy a special evening. We kept things simple—just water to drink, with fresh bread and salad to start. The atmosphere was perfect, and I soaked in every moment of our time together. We’re incredibly grateful for our families, who made the night even more special. My parents generously gave us cash to enjoy our dinner, and Kim’s parents gifted us movie money so we could extend the celebration. Their thoughtfulness reminded us how lucky we are to be surrounded by love and support. Family and friends made it sweeter We were so blessed by our families: my parents gave us cash to enjoy the night and Kim’s parents sent money for a movie treat. Our friends even gifted us a 20% tip card for the meal...

Gratitude, Good Food, and Good Books

A Thanksgiving weekend of family meals, long walks, and reaching 86 books this year Bryan and I headed out for a walk after he returned from his sister’s Thanksgiving gathering, settling into a steady 30‑minute pace that carried us just under 2 km. The air was crisp with a light breeze, the kind of weather that makes movement feel effortless. I’ve always loved these cooler temperatures—my body doesn’t have to work as hard, and the transition from “easy mode” into a gentle warm‑up felt natural. Carrying 30 pounds with me added that extra layer of challenge, but it blended seamlessly into the rhythm of the walk. We paused at a park bench along the way, taking a moment to sit together before snapping a photo. That small break reminded me how these walks are as much about connection as they are about distance or weight carried. The combination of fresh air, conversation, and the grounding presence of the season made the outing feel restorative. It wasn’t just a walk—it was a reminder...

Back in Stride: A Run Worth Celebrating

After seven weeks of setbacks and recovery, I laced up with Dixie and reclaimed my rhythm—3.64 km of steady effort, heart in the aerobic zone, and a reminder that progress starts with showing up. This afternoon, Dixie and I laced up and headed out for a run while the daylight was still holding on. It felt so good to be back out there after a bit of a break, moving at our own pace and enjoying the fresh air together. There’s something about running with Dixie that makes the effort lighter—her energy and joy keep me motivated, even when I’m easing back into the rhythm. At first, I thought about pushing myself to five kilometers, but I remembered the back pain I’ve been dealing with and decided to listen to the advice of my AI fitness coach: don’t overdo it on the first run back. That reminder helped me focus on the joy of the moment instead of chasing distance. Sometimes the smartest choice is to start slow, and today proved that pacing myself was exactly what I needed. The run en...
