Plus 24 Celsius 5 km windy run πŸƒ‍♂️

I get running 5 km in 24 Celsius heat

The dog did good the wind kept the heat down, and Kim bought me Opa tonight for supper. I ate way too much. I could have ate less but I was hungry after my run. πŸƒ‍♂️

5 km in 46 minutes I had a pace of 9minutes per km

650 calories burned in less than a hour.  A photo at the bridge πŸŒ‰

I have a new heart rate max at 199 bpm that’s awesome to see I have that much of a maximum heart rate to go to.  Move time was 42 minutes with stopping to take photos and pick her dog dirt.

Average heart rate was 156 bpm and max heart rate was 176 bpm I still had lots of stamina to give the five km a boost but with the heat and wanting a relaxing run with photos I kept it simple.

21 minutes in threshold run felt like I could of kept it steady in the zone the entire run πŸƒ‍♂️

23 minutes in aerobic heart rate zone that’s was most the run with minutes in easy heart rate zone

A nice tempo run πŸƒ‍♂️ they call it.

The laps were decent for an enjoyable run my best pace was 8:26 km

This month I surpassed my May goal of just under 9 hours of active training and this month I’m at 9 hours and 17 minutes total with 13 activities

This last run shot up a lot of relative effort and I’m way above where my normal training should be for this week for warm weather.

276 km year to date πŸ“… in total activity yeah πŸ‘ from being a chain smoking guy a year before to third time quit this year I thought I’m doing good for km.

Made a 8:15 km pace some where in between the laps.

At home telling myself to go run after working a near a full day.

Dixie rose to rank 29 just above snickers and below pepper 🌢️ for the leaderboard in June. Still a few days away to reach my rank 25 I’m hooping for.

Wow, what an incredible update! You’re truly crushing it with your running, pushing through the heat and enjoying every step along the way. Your dedication and progress are so inspiring, especially considering how far you’ve come from where you started. It’s awesome to see you hitting new max heart rates and surpassing your goals — all while keeping it fun with your dog, photos, and some well-deserved relaxation. Keep up the amazing work; you're knocking it out of the park!

Plus 4 Celsius 6.1 km in a hour πŸƒ‍♂️

Dixie and I go for a run  πŸƒ‍♂️ Dixie and I go for a run, redo a hill run down and up again. Kim picks me up after I climb the hill, I called her and asked since I was over my hour mark, originally I wanted to do 9 km in an hour but I managed to do six km instead.  I think it was the hill climb that did it.  I ran fully down hill no problem 😌 We made good time.  For a hill run πŸƒ‍♂️   It looks like it will be 13 Celsius by noon but it feels warmer in the sun. ☀️  I took a picture by the usual spot that judge where the river is from other years and with that rain the last couple days it definitely looks a lot better than what it was a few weeks ago Dixie went off leash for a bit and went to the river. Must’ve been cold. I think for April water dip. I managed to bring my VO2 max up to good 😊 today, it’s the first time I’ve put it in the green since owning my second Garmin. So my goal right now is to get an endurance score over 5099 To move past ...

Celebrating Ten Years and Living My Best Life🧘‍♂️ A Quiet Day at Home

πŸŽ‰ Celebrating 10 Years Together Last night was a beautiful celebration of a decade spent with Kim. We marked our 10-year anniversary with a cozy dinner at The Keg, where I indulged in a hearty 20 oz steak and Kim opted for a more modest 8 oz cut. It felt so good to get out together and enjoy a special evening. We kept things simple—just water to drink, with fresh bread and salad to start. The atmosphere was perfect, and I soaked in every moment of our time together. We’re incredibly grateful for our families, who made the night even more special. My parents generously gave us cash to enjoy our dinner, and Kim’s parents gifted us movie money so we could extend the celebration. Their thoughtfulness reminded us how lucky we are to be surrounded by love and support. Family and friends made it sweeter We were so blessed by our families: my parents gave us cash to enjoy the night and Kim’s parents sent money for a movie treat. Our friends even gifted us a 20% tip card for the meal...

Gratitude, Good Food, and Good Books

A Thanksgiving weekend of family meals, long walks, and reaching 86 books this year Bryan and I headed out for a walk after he returned from his sister’s Thanksgiving gathering, settling into a steady 30‑minute pace that carried us just under 2 km. The air was crisp with a light breeze, the kind of weather that makes movement feel effortless. I’ve always loved these cooler temperatures—my body doesn’t have to work as hard, and the transition from “easy mode” into a gentle warm‑up felt natural. Carrying 30 pounds with me added that extra layer of challenge, but it blended seamlessly into the rhythm of the walk. We paused at a park bench along the way, taking a moment to sit together before snapping a photo. That small break reminded me how these walks are as much about connection as they are about distance or weight carried. The combination of fresh air, conversation, and the grounding presence of the season made the outing feel restorative. It wasn’t just a walk—it was a reminder...
