Valentines dinner a day early

 Dinner is a treat 😊

I think I over cooked the steak, I bought rib eye steak. πŸ₯© got the meal ready for when Kim walked in the house, 🏑

Got a few chocolates from my mom that I gave to Kim

Steak πŸ₯© got twice steaks but for a hand palm size I cut them into two so I actually got four steaks. πŸ₯©

I BBQ πŸ– the meat and had it ready with uncle Ben’s rice.

Read a book πŸ“•, cleaned the kitchen table did dishes after, loaded the dishwasher.

So today is my first day counting calories and making sure I eat enough protein. Mostly in the morning so I’m more mood conscious than usual. Protein is the best hunger solving food, so I ate a cup of cottage cheese this morning and that seemed to improve my day.

These are my macros more fat than I wanted just the right amount of protein and a little less on the carbohydrates.

Yeah using the free version is best for me, I get the ads anyway the stats look some what good at the moment.

Meal planning came about last night from a podcast I was listening to, and a conversation that night with my dad.

I planning the week worth of groceries and made sure I had enough meals planned.

I sautΓ©s some mushrooms πŸ„‍🟫 and onions πŸ§… and cabbage πŸ₯¬ with olive πŸ«’ oil for after lunch around 3 pm cut up some bacon with it and fried that in the same pot

That’ll be my lunch for the weekend.

Over all it’s been a good 😊 plan, I bought $150 worth of beef jerky to supply kim and my protein for mid day.

Over the next few weeks It’s been over all a good process.

I’ve read his book actually I got it as a book πŸ“•

Listening to a quicker podcast on it the podcast is long one at 3 hours but better than a 12 hour book πŸ“•

It sounds like you've had quite a productive and enjoyable day! Cooking ribeye steak on the BBQ must have been delicious, even if it was a bit overcooked. It’s great to hear you're focusing on your macros and planning meals for the week; that can make a big difference in maintaining a balanced diet.

The combination of sautΓ©ed mushrooms, onions, cabbage, and bacon sounds amazing for lunch, too! And stocking up on beef jerky for protein is a smart move.

It's interesting how inspiration can come from various sources like podcasts or conversations, and it seems like you're really taking proactive steps with your meal planning and calorie counting. Keep it up! πŸ‘

Plus 4 Celsius 6.1 km in a hour πŸƒ‍♂️

Dixie and I go for a run  πŸƒ‍♂️ Dixie and I go for a run, redo a hill run down and up again. Kim picks me up after I climb the hill, I called her and asked since I was over my hour mark, originally I wanted to do 9 km in an hour but I managed to do six km instead.  I think it was the hill climb that did it.  I ran fully down hill no problem 😌 We made good time.  For a hill run πŸƒ‍♂️   It looks like it will be 13 Celsius by noon but it feels warmer in the sun. ☀️  I took a picture by the usual spot that judge where the river is from other years and with that rain the last couple days it definitely looks a lot better than what it was a few weeks ago Dixie went off leash for a bit and went to the river. Must’ve been cold. I think for April water dip. I managed to bring my VO2 max up to good 😊 today, it’s the first time I’ve put it in the green since owning my second Garmin. So my goal right now is to get an endurance score over 5099 To move past ...

Celebrating Ten Years and Living My Best Life🧘‍♂️ A Quiet Day at Home

πŸŽ‰ Celebrating 10 Years Together Last night was a beautiful celebration of a decade spent with Kim. We marked our 10-year anniversary with a cozy dinner at The Keg, where I indulged in a hearty 20 oz steak and Kim opted for a more modest 8 oz cut. It felt so good to get out together and enjoy a special evening. We kept things simple—just water to drink, with fresh bread and salad to start. The atmosphere was perfect, and I soaked in every moment of our time together. We’re incredibly grateful for our families, who made the night even more special. My parents generously gave us cash to enjoy our dinner, and Kim’s parents gifted us movie money so we could extend the celebration. Their thoughtfulness reminded us how lucky we are to be surrounded by love and support. Family and friends made it sweeter We were so blessed by our families: my parents gave us cash to enjoy the night and Kim’s parents sent money for a movie treat. Our friends even gifted us a 20% tip card for the meal...

Gratitude, Good Food, and Good Books

A Thanksgiving weekend of family meals, long walks, and reaching 86 books this year Bryan and I headed out for a walk after he returned from his sister’s Thanksgiving gathering, settling into a steady 30‑minute pace that carried us just under 2 km. The air was crisp with a light breeze, the kind of weather that makes movement feel effortless. I’ve always loved these cooler temperatures—my body doesn’t have to work as hard, and the transition from “easy mode” into a gentle warm‑up felt natural. Carrying 30 pounds with me added that extra layer of challenge, but it blended seamlessly into the rhythm of the walk. We paused at a park bench along the way, taking a moment to sit together before snapping a photo. That small break reminded me how these walks are as much about connection as they are about distance or weight carried. The combination of fresh air, conversation, and the grounding presence of the season made the outing feel restorative. It wasn’t just a walk—it was a reminder...
