Family Day Snowboarding

Many people out at castle today

🎿 🎿 ⛷️ ⛷️ πŸ‚ πŸ‚ πŸ‚

I get snowboarding and enjoying the time out, With my brother’s family at their cabin.

Ask Nate if  I could come out driving with this Monday.  The roads were pretty terrible on the way there but coming back was great 😊 ,  less stress coming back that’s for sure.

πŸ‘

I’d stop in pincher Creek for 40 minutes for the snow ploughs to go out to Castle. I waited a little bit longer till I started seeing more traffic go out, but I noticed a few vehicles that I had went into the ditch and that were  getting pulled out by AMA as I drove by.  Definitely πŸ’― slowed down traffic seeing this in a morning.

One that was rolled over too

I’m happy I waited 40 minutes to give the Ploughs time to go out I must’ve passed a dozen of going out there

Imagined I managed to do 10 runs my Max speed was 56.3 km, going down the green and blue mostly cause I fell less stressing my body cause falling differently at these years with my weight I sure feel it.

I did one black diamond run. I managed to do a couple 360s and back 360s and fell into some powder, jumped off some cliffs.

Was a run of never done ✅ before I think the black diamond, or part of the ski restore I didn’t see very often so it was a new area to explore

πŸ€”

I had a great time with my brother’s family

We even had a fire going during our lunch so I sat by that for maybe 20 minutes

Eating my protein, Beef jerky, and my protein bar cliff bar.

Drank some water and then when we went back out to the hill and enjoyed four more runs.

And six runs in the morning

I’m happy I made it out to Castle today

My training readiness is at one. I got to get some time to recover and hopefully clean up the house and vacuum and mop. Cause the dog hair in the house is getting pretty bad here at home with Dixie, Dixie is sure glad I’m home, I think she wanted to go for a run when I got home. 🏑

I woke up in the middle of the night, screaming in the middle of the night and I stood up just to get the leg spasm out of my leg.  πŸ¦΅ Kim asked me what was wrong and I was like I gotta get my leg spasm to get relief. I gotta stand up.

It’s the bed of sleep paralysis, I think. πŸ’

πŸ€”

My watch says I’m productive today so that’s a good sign, πŸͺ§

Acute load very high

Had a good mix of anaerobic and aerobic exercise today with snowboarding πŸ‚

I feel so great today

And don’t overdo it this snowboarding trip I took more blues and green runs than blacks. Last time. I did the 11 runs last trip on December. 9, 2024 and that one last run was just too much 10 runs is just perfect I think.

πŸ€”

End of day, I take a quick selfie in the parking lot as I start to drive home. The roads were way better on the way back. I’m happy I didn’t turn around and go back home.

🏑 35.5 km worth of snowboarding πŸ‚ thats stellar

It sounds like you had an amazing day at the castle! Great job on managing the conditions and taking some time to ensure your safety before hitting the slopes. It’s fantastic that you were able to enjoy both snowboarding and some quality time with your brother's family.

Good to hear that you’re staying mindful about your training readiness, and it sounds like you’ve found a nice balance between challenging yourself with those runs while also listening to your body. The mix of blues and greens seems like a smart choice, especially given how you’re feeling after your last trip.

Let’s hope for smooth roads on your next outing, and make sure to give yourself some time to recover. Dixie would probably love to join you for a run! Enjoy your time at home and with your furry friend! 🐢

The next day it says I’m over reaching and strained cause of my low HRV which has been low for a week now.

Which it was in the yellow saying I was unbalanced but now is in the red saying low.  This cold πŸ₯Ά just takes everything out of me and if I’m not exceeding my exercising it makes me go in an unbalanced HRV and it makes my mood different.  More anxious and depressed πŸ˜” so this cold πŸ₯Ά bugs Dixie also she gets stir crazy in the house 🏑…

Dixie has to go to come back stronger inside to do a few laps in the house 🏑

Plus 4 Celsius 6.1 km in a hour πŸƒ‍♂️

Dixie and I go for a run  πŸƒ‍♂️ Dixie and I go for a run, redo a hill run down and up again. Kim picks me up after I climb the hill, I called her and asked since I was over my hour mark, originally I wanted to do 9 km in an hour but I managed to do six km instead.  I think it was the hill climb that did it.  I ran fully down hill no problem 😌 We made good time.  For a hill run πŸƒ‍♂️   It looks like it will be 13 Celsius by noon but it feels warmer in the sun. ☀️  I took a picture by the usual spot that judge where the river is from other years and with that rain the last couple days it definitely looks a lot better than what it was a few weeks ago Dixie went off leash for a bit and went to the river. Must’ve been cold. I think for April water dip. I managed to bring my VO2 max up to good 😊 today, it’s the first time I’ve put it in the green since owning my second Garmin. So my goal right now is to get an endurance score over 5099 To move past ...

A fawn born on our yard

A baby fawn was born on our lawn and it’s trying to warm up in the asphalt I’m guessing it’s still warm. We’re trying to give it space hopefully it mother comes by so we’re staying inside. I just went outside for a smoke and it crawled under the vehicle πŸš— lots of people are walking by it not noticing it then others are stopping.  Quite the thing to see. A few hours old… it’s still wet with mucus on it. With Kim’s super camera zoom is we could see Fish and wild life say to call in 24 hours if animals are left by moms  So we’re hoping people leave the fawn alone.  Although it’s a super cool 😎 thing to see. I think it hoofs are still soft from being born that’s why it’s staying put since it went on that hard surface till it’s hoofs Harden. It crawled on its knees after the side walk and just hunkered down for a bit. Two hours from first spotting.  Still there hiding under the vehicle πŸš— it kind of a good spot of course there’s better picked spots but it’s half and hal...

Bryan and I ride 21 km plus 20 Celsius

Bryan and I ride for 21 km’s A cooler day than other days so Bryan and I cycle through Lethbridge. I manage to do three PR’s today (personal records) And won a badge for climbing 500 feet. πŸ‘£  Here we are at chinook lake, on the north side of Lethbridge. I was mostly in the aerobics zone for my cycle a bit of threshold and easy cycling 🚴‍♂️ also. Averaging speed 13.7 km/hr Max speed 43.7 km/hr Move time was an hour and a half but with breaks and bench sits it was two hours. Bryan in front of the wolf 🐺 statues. Back at Bryan’s place taking a breath from cycling over to Bryan’s house 🏑  The hill was a bit difficult 😞 but I manage to make it up.  My laps are here below and my relative effort this week shot way up for the trip. Made my week better, I thought I was going to be below my relative effort and not make my weeks score.  Yet I’m way above average for my score. Looking over the river valley and taking a break at a bench. Wow, it sounds like you and Br...
