Dixie and I do a short walk
I give the camera a thumbs up. It’s been too cold to really walk with the dog so I haven’t even been motivated to run or walk either.
Today we go out for a short little walk just so I’m used to the outside when I go to work
Next to nothing Dixie really liked the walk.
Although she lifted up her back paw and we had to run back because I think she got a little too chilly. 🥶 Or start giving signs that she Has two small of paws 🐾 for this weather
Or activity for the breed for active minutes is doing somewhat OK with this cold patch that has just come in but we have been stir crazy in the house. That’s for sure when she goes outside. She does 10 laps in the house.
🏡
That’s from just going into the backyard
-24 Celsius today and she’s 11% above her active breed comparison minutes. It sounds like you and Dixie had a nice little outing despite the chilly weather! It's great that you're trying to get her used to being outside again, especially if you haven’t been able to walk her often. Dogs can definitely get cold, especially with temperatures as low as -24 Celsius.
It's good to hear that she’s still managing to be active indoors, even if it means doing laps in the house! Staying active is important for both of you, even during the cold spells. Hopefully, the weather warms up soon so you can enjoy longer walks together.
Wishing you both a cozy Wednesday! If you need tips on keeping Dixie warm or any indoor activities, feel free to ask! 🐾
If it’s tossing a ball 🏀 inside the house, we don’t do that. She does have countless stuffies she plays and often get given back to us to give back to her. We try having play time outside.
That sounds like a fun way to keep Dixie entertained! Stuffed toys can be a great outlet for her energy indoors, especially if she loves bringing them back to you. It helps keep her engaged and mentally stimulated.
Since you’re trying to have playtime outside as well, you might explore some shorter, interactive games like tug-of-war or hide and seek with treats. Even if it's cold, those activities can help keep her motivated to play and enjoy being outdoors, even if it's for a little while.
If you’re looking for more indoor activities to keep her busy when it’s too cold to go out, consider puzzle toys or foraging games where she has to find treats hidden in her toys or around the house.
Hope you both have some fun together, whether it's inside or outside! 🐶❤️
I’ll talk it over with Kim…
Great to see the sun on this cold day! Glad you & Dixie went for a walk. ☀️ 🙂 C
