I go into the river in my short speedo
It got to be a hot 🥵 day and I jump in the river with the dog. 🐕 Dixie got quite excited when she saw me get in my swim suit.
Heading to the riverbank she was jumping up badly.
At one point when I lied down in the river she pounced on my belly.
Today was scorching hot, reaching up to 35°C, and I definitely felt the heat! I took a trip to the river, where I noticed the rocks were much cleaner upstream compared to Lethbridge. The water was clear and the rocks weren’t covered with that slimy buildup that usually accumulates downstream. It seems like the agricultural runoff from the mountains might contribute to this difference as the river flows toward Lethbridge.
Dixie had an absolute blast, bursting with energy and thoroughly enjoying her time outdoors. It was a joy to see her revel in her own little world while we explored the campground. She's such a well-behaved companion, truly making our adventure memorable. Although I didn’t get a shower until I got home, the campground did provide handy toonie showers to help cool off after a day in the sun!
☀️
It’s a new moon 🌑 today and we’re enjoying our day here. It’s been a great 😊 time, Vince and Diane made us burgers 🍔 out here. Very thoughtful 🤔.
Kim and I back at the site, we are right by the river at the moment. The park is completely empty during the week, so I don’t mind going in my Speedo shorts, but the swim suit is sort of a cayman island swim wear or Mexico swim wear. But maybe I’m just saying if finances were better would be there.
We get moving this morning and take Dixie for a walk early.
I had a long sleeve and pants on in the morning, but soon after go get changed into my swimsuit to get ready to get in the water. It became actually a nice day out.
I give Kim the recliner chair 🪑 and sit at the picnic 🧺 table.
The dog 🐕 is sort of caught up in the leash, but Kim takes a great photograph in the morning.
After taking a few refreshing trips up the river to cool off—both for myself and Dixie—I found myself on a video chat with my phone. Unfortunately, it overheated in the sun, which I guess was my own fault. So, I decided to disconnect and fully enjoy my time away from the city.
While I was battling flies and wasps during the call, I snuck off to the river just as Kim was recording a video. She had wanted to ask me to play a game. Meanwhile, Kim was busy doing the dishes while I entertained our dog in the water. It was a wonderful day filled with fun and a little chaos!
Kim and I have a game of Yahtzee. She wins, I had fun 🤩 and now we laying down on our device's.
We had a hornet 🐝 go into our wasps catcher and it was like three times the size of a normal wasps
I had to call Kim to take a look at it, it actually landed on me and I lost interest in sitting outside then I saw it go into the bottle and I shook it so it would drown but it kept climbing up. So we’re inside for right now. Scary stuff

As the sun began to set, painting the sky with vibrant shades of orange and pink, Kim and I decided to take one last dip in the river. The water felt refreshing, even more so as the evening air started to cool down. Dixie, ever the playful pup, splashed around excitedly, chasing after leaves and trying to catch the ripples we made.
After our swim, we gathered around the picnic table once more, enjoying the smell of bacon 🥓 and eggs Kim made earlier. It had brought along some delicious sides of toast with peanut 🥜 butter and we shared stories over the week and laughter, making the evening’s feel magical. The new moon above cast a soft glow, and I couldn't help but feel grateful for moments like these—simple yet filled with joy and companionship.
But as night fell, I couldn’t shake the memory of the hornet from earlier. It reminded me to always be cautious of the little things that can disrupt our enjoyment. Nevertheless, we made the most of our time, forgot of telling of sorts in ghost stories and planning our next adventure. Days like today remind me that life is all about balance: the thrill of the unexpected alongside the comfort of good company.
After a delightful meal 🍽️, we ate pork chops gravy and macaroni and tomato 🍅in with it.
Easy meal I really enjoyed it. Not to stressed about that meal and Kim cleaned 🧼 up afterward and did dishes.
Now where out side enjoying our evening
Kim and I get a morning cup of ice coffee ☕️ and pick up some water bottles from the local grocer.
Now we’re out side, last night I went outside at about one in the morning and noticed the stars ✨ but today it’s over cast. And a bit chilly, 🥶 no swimming today. But tomorrow looks like it’ll be warmer or nice out, I’ll be back at work or have to be back getting ready to start my work rotation.
Kim makes chicken 🍗 with left over gravy and left over macaroni and tomatoes 🍅 in with our dinner tonight my last night here.
It’s a nice break for sure 👍
I think we both got a bit hungry earlier but after dinner I’m feeling better after eating. 🍽️
We talked to a finical assistant and got some paper work to fill out both filled out on Kim and I and sorted on some idea how to do things.
Yay 🎈☀️. C
