Enduro 3 and 40th birthday goal

I’d like to put in five minutes of running in my five or ten km walks.

And work myself up to ten minutes of running

Then work myself up to fifteen minutes and a 1/2 hour after

In my five km than means if I’m doing 6-7 minutes I’ll be able to do my whole five km in 30-35 minutes cutting my walks in half with Dixie

I think I’ll get started on my birthday πŸ₯³

It’s got adjustment pace for different terrain and route adjustments that will make sure I do the amount of kilometres I want even if I deviate from my route it’ll re adjust to calculate 10km or five km depending if I change my mind mid walk run

It’s my 40 year birthday πŸ₯³ goal

To be running five km in a 1/2 hour

Well for my 40 year old year by the end of it going to be 41 I hoping I’ll be there

I’d just like to get a garmin enduro 3 watch and try to run again with dog πŸ• I’ve been walking for years and slowed my smoking hugely for years I’d like to really gift that to myself this year

Just my walking activities that I track usually I only get to go on walks five km only 5-6 times in a month

That’s 1.5 times a week I’m doing five km

Or

1.3 times a week five km

Usually with a smaller walk after the five km in a week

July heat was busy in the mornings and i lost a friend end of June to suicide I lost interest in walking hugely after

It’s sad that it ended so badly,

Life goes on, and at it being sad πŸ˜” he thought that was his outlet.  I thought it would be walking or getting fit.  But some times a guy loses to much weight and is miserable in life but a bit of weight a person feels way better with dark thoughts..

For some reason he wanted to act on those things and it made lots of people uncomfortable 😣 with themselves and him.

It’s tragic really.

But I’m back at it again September was sort of different cause Dixie has been hurt 😞

Often I don’t track my walks but my step counter tracks it.  Last couple years wearing a garmin I’ve done similar amount of steps. Trying more floors as also.

Not much else to do about it, doctor said exercising is good,😊 ramping up the exercise. Keep on doing what I’m doing eating almonds, oats, or more fiber.

I have to drink less pop, and carbs and ultra processed sugars

You should get blood work done see if your cholesterol is high or you still have high blood pressure?!?!

I had a good visit, it’s a doctor appointment to get a standing order for blood work then an appointment to get blood work done then another appointment to get a doctor to talk of the blood work takes like 2-3 months to get in on the appointments but it’d be something to look at.

Running for five minutes might help

Hopefully by the time for spring comes around I’m running for 30 minutes 2-4 times a month

When I do my blood work again

Plus 4 Celsius 6.1 km in a hour πŸƒ‍♂️

Dixie and I go for a run  πŸƒ‍♂️ Dixie and I go for a run, redo a hill run down and up again. Kim picks me up after I climb the hill, I called her and asked since I was over my hour mark, originally I wanted to do 9 km in an hour but I managed to do six km instead.  I think it was the hill climb that did it.  I ran fully down hill no problem 😌 We made good time.  For a hill run πŸƒ‍♂️   It looks like it will be 13 Celsius by noon but it feels warmer in the sun. ☀️  I took a picture by the usual spot that judge where the river is from other years and with that rain the last couple days it definitely looks a lot better than what it was a few weeks ago Dixie went off leash for a bit and went to the river. Must’ve been cold. I think for April water dip. I managed to bring my VO2 max up to good 😊 today, it’s the first time I’ve put it in the green since owning my second Garmin. So my goal right now is to get an endurance score over 5099 To move past ...

Celebrating Ten Years and Living My Best Life🧘‍♂️ A Quiet Day at Home

πŸŽ‰ Celebrating 10 Years Together Last night was a beautiful celebration of a decade spent with Kim. We marked our 10-year anniversary with a cozy dinner at The Keg, where I indulged in a hearty 20 oz steak and Kim opted for a more modest 8 oz cut. It felt so good to get out together and enjoy a special evening. We kept things simple—just water to drink, with fresh bread and salad to start. The atmosphere was perfect, and I soaked in every moment of our time together. We’re incredibly grateful for our families, who made the night even more special. My parents generously gave us cash to enjoy our dinner, and Kim’s parents gifted us movie money so we could extend the celebration. Their thoughtfulness reminded us how lucky we are to be surrounded by love and support. Family and friends made it sweeter We were so blessed by our families: my parents gave us cash to enjoy the night and Kim’s parents sent money for a movie treat. Our friends even gifted us a 20% tip card for the meal...

Gratitude, Good Food, and Good Books

A Thanksgiving weekend of family meals, long walks, and reaching 86 books this year Bryan and I headed out for a walk after he returned from his sister’s Thanksgiving gathering, settling into a steady 30‑minute pace that carried us just under 2 km. The air was crisp with a light breeze, the kind of weather that makes movement feel effortless. I’ve always loved these cooler temperatures—my body doesn’t have to work as hard, and the transition from “easy mode” into a gentle warm‑up felt natural. Carrying 30 pounds with me added that extra layer of challenge, but it blended seamlessly into the rhythm of the walk. We paused at a park bench along the way, taking a moment to sit together before snapping a photo. That small break reminded me how these walks are as much about connection as they are about distance or weight carried. The combination of fresh air, conversation, and the grounding presence of the season made the outing feel restorative. It wasn’t just a walk—it was a reminder...
