Backyard ball toss and BBQ

Dixie with her tongue 👅 out full on laughing 😆 the whole time she played ball and a good 1/2 hour after.

She is happy dog 🐕.

We got on the top 1/3 of our breed active minutes. She is doing good 😌 this week.

I tor out and get us each a fountain pop just a large not the biggest size.

Less pop might be better for us, lots of ice 🧊.

Dixie plays really well bring the ball back majority of the time.

Nice 😊 back yard fun.

Ball tossing,

Fountain pop,

And great smiles and laughter 🤭.

Dixie had a wonderful time together in the backyard! It's great to hear that she's a happy dog and that you both enjoyed playing ball and spending time outside. Remember, staying hydrated is important, so having a nice fountain pop with lots of ice can be refreshing! Keep up the good work with Dixie and continue to have fun in your backyard adventures!

We are bbq pork ribs after they come out of the instant pot

Kim and I cleaned 🧼 the sink, broke a glass 🥃 and then cleaned that up, emptied the dishwasher, the loaded the dishwasher to start it before supper.

The ribs are going on the BBQ in 20 minutes.  We don’t know if we would have enough propane for the entire cooking hour for ribs so we decided to cook them at the end after we instant pot them.

To cook there after they get tender,

I hope you’re all enjoying the outside.

It’s beautiful outside.

The dog still hasn’t got a walk yet but I did lift weights 🏋️‍♂️.

Ribs looked good after, Kim picked these up for us.  A good treat, she pulled it out of the freezer and thawed it today.

Dixie even ate some of the ribs when we held the bone 🍖.

Her eyes 👀 widen at that prospect of eating a rib.

Another 💯 push-ups after supper at about 5pm, after I ate at four.  No problems with meal and working out.

I feel a bit tight and should stretch soon. Still a beginner fitness this year.  I sort of took a long break over winter and a few friends have mentioned I’ve sure leaned down this winter and spring.

cleaning and cooking and with entertainment with dog. Hoping Kim and I get on our steam deck to of game some Dota 2 right away before the weekend gets away for one game.

Busy day after work, from starting at 5:30 and  getting home 🏡 near 1:30.  Today not much reading with a van breaking down and getting a rental and work done ✅.

Had a busy day with cleaning, cooking, and even some gaming plans! Cooking ribs after using the instant pot is a great idea to get that delicious barbecue flavor. Just got to make sure to check on the propane level so I wouldn’t run out while grilling, also glad to see the ribs turned out well and that Dixie enjoyed them too!

It's great that you're keeping up with your fitness routine by lifting weights and doing push-ups. Remember to stretch to avoid feeling tight later on. As for gaming Dota 2 on your steam deck, that sounds like a fun way to unwind after a long day.

It's important to balance work, chores, and self-care, so it's impressive that you managed to fit in so much today. Hopefully, you'll have a relaxing evening and enjoy your meal with the ribs.

Celebrating Ten Years and Living My Best Life🧘‍♂️ A Quiet Day at Home

🎉 Celebrating 10 Years Together Last night was a beautiful celebration of a decade spent with Kim. We marked our 10-year anniversary with a cozy dinner at The Keg, where I indulged in a hearty 20 oz steak and Kim opted for a more modest 8 oz cut. It felt so good to get out together and enjoy a special evening. We kept things simple—just water to drink, with fresh bread and salad to start. The atmosphere was perfect, and I soaked in every moment of our time together. We’re incredibly grateful for our families, who made the night even more special. My parents generously gave us cash to enjoy our dinner, and Kim’s parents gifted us movie money so we could extend the celebration. Their thoughtfulness reminded us how lucky we are to be surrounded by love and support. Family and friends made it sweeter We were so blessed by our families: my parents gave us cash to enjoy the night and Kim’s parents sent money for a movie treat. Our friends even gifted us a 20% tip card for the meal...

Gratitude, Good Food, and Good Books

A Thanksgiving weekend of family meals, long walks, and reaching 86 books this year Bryan and I headed out for a walk after he returned from his sister’s Thanksgiving gathering, settling into a steady 30‑minute pace that carried us just under 2 km. The air was crisp with a light breeze, the kind of weather that makes movement feel effortless. I’ve always loved these cooler temperatures—my body doesn’t have to work as hard, and the transition from “easy mode” into a gentle warm‑up felt natural. Carrying 30 pounds with me added that extra layer of challenge, but it blended seamlessly into the rhythm of the walk. We paused at a park bench along the way, taking a moment to sit together before snapping a photo. That small break reminded me how these walks are as much about connection as they are about distance or weight carried. The combination of fresh air, conversation, and the grounding presence of the season made the outing feel restorative. It wasn’t just a walk—it was a reminder...

Back in Stride: A Run Worth Celebrating

After seven weeks of setbacks and recovery, I laced up with Dixie and reclaimed my rhythm—3.64 km of steady effort, heart in the aerobic zone, and a reminder that progress starts with showing up. This afternoon, Dixie and I laced up and headed out for a run while the daylight was still holding on. It felt so good to be back out there after a bit of a break, moving at our own pace and enjoying the fresh air together. There’s something about running with Dixie that makes the effort lighter—her energy and joy keep me motivated, even when I’m easing back into the rhythm. At first, I thought about pushing myself to five kilometers, but I remembered the back pain I’ve been dealing with and decided to listen to the advice of my AI fitness coach: don’t overdo it on the first run back. That reminder helped me focus on the joy of the moment instead of chasing distance. Sometimes the smartest choice is to start slow, and today proved that pacing myself was exactly what I needed. The run en...
