Plus 9 six am run πŸƒ‍♂️ 3.5 km

Dixie and I start our run early.

Before the sun ☀️ comes up Dixie and I are running, πŸƒ‍♂️

Started a few minutes before six it was dawn at about 6:05 and sun doesn’t shine til 6:30ish when I went, a beautiful morning and I had a good time, originally wanted to do five km and to start at five am I’m but it was a base run so I didn’t want to go over that Garmin planning.

It’s plus nine Celsius outside when I went, I’ve sort of lose a lot of walking and running friends this summer. It’s just been me so I’ve lost completely motivation to get out. This morning I managed to wake up earlier to go do a run before the heat got to me.

3.5 km in 32 minutes.

Was aiming for five km but I couldn’t keep

My 6-7 minute pace to do the run in 34 minutes

Dixie stops lots so that wreck havoc on the pace also picking up dog dirt does too. My pace was 9-10 minutes per km.

Heart rate is in the red, due to I’m smoking again, I started smoking these last couple weeks.  A difficult decision and it gives me anxiety when I do.  But I had a smoke just before I ran.

You can see I ran and walked around my circuit for running. πŸƒ‍♂️ 14 minutes of running and 17 minutes of walking 🚢‍♂️

It was a decent run. πŸƒ‍♂️ mostly in aerobic training for heart rate zone.

The dog is good her stats are not the best since it’s been dreadfully hot πŸ₯΅ out when I got to go and doesn’t cool down at night either til morning it seems. It was pitch black when I started dawn does start til ten minutes into the run but the sun doesn’t come up til 6:38 so I had to wait til near the end of my run to take photos.

Dixie is 58% below her active breed minutes , as it’s been difficult to get out. It’s borderline neglect on my part.  I got to get motivated earlier in the morning even before work to get her active  minutes up before the heat comes.

Already by seven I’m already above her usual active minutes since I’m at 51 minutes and she usually lately only get 47 minutes.

I guess the tracker was out of batteries πŸͺ« for awhile too, so it hasn’t been tracking either way I plugged it in yesterday and it’s started tracking again. It makes it easier to see progress when it’s charged.

I left its battery dead  ☠️ for weeks .

Idk 🀷‍♂️ just not motivated enough when I go by my self it’s just been quick river runs πŸƒ‍♂️ to sit by the river side.

It sounds like you had a meaningful and reflective morning run with Dixie. Despite the challenges such as motivation, heat, and some setbacks with your tracking, you managed to get out and stay active, which is a significant achievement. Your awareness of both your fitness and Dixie’s activity levels shows you're committed to maintaining a healthy routine for both of you. Remember, every small step counts, and it’s okay to have days when motivation dips. Keep focusing on those moments and progress, and try to find ways to make your runs more enjoyable or less stressful.

Plus 4 Celsius 6.1 km in a hour πŸƒ‍♂️

Dixie and I go for a run  πŸƒ‍♂️ Dixie and I go for a run, redo a hill run down and up again. Kim picks me up after I climb the hill, I called her and asked since I was over my hour mark, originally I wanted to do 9 km in an hour but I managed to do six km instead.  I think it was the hill climb that did it.  I ran fully down hill no problem 😌 We made good time.  For a hill run πŸƒ‍♂️   It looks like it will be 13 Celsius by noon but it feels warmer in the sun. ☀️  I took a picture by the usual spot that judge where the river is from other years and with that rain the last couple days it definitely looks a lot better than what it was a few weeks ago Dixie went off leash for a bit and went to the river. Must’ve been cold. I think for April water dip. I managed to bring my VO2 max up to good 😊 today, it’s the first time I’ve put it in the green since owning my second Garmin. So my goal right now is to get an endurance score over 5099 To move past ...

Celebrating Ten Years and Living My Best Life🧘‍♂️ A Quiet Day at Home

πŸŽ‰ Celebrating 10 Years Together Last night was a beautiful celebration of a decade spent with Kim. We marked our 10-year anniversary with a cozy dinner at The Keg, where I indulged in a hearty 20 oz steak and Kim opted for a more modest 8 oz cut. It felt so good to get out together and enjoy a special evening. We kept things simple—just water to drink, with fresh bread and salad to start. The atmosphere was perfect, and I soaked in every moment of our time together. We’re incredibly grateful for our families, who made the night even more special. My parents generously gave us cash to enjoy our dinner, and Kim’s parents gifted us movie money so we could extend the celebration. Their thoughtfulness reminded us how lucky we are to be surrounded by love and support. Family and friends made it sweeter We were so blessed by our families: my parents gave us cash to enjoy the night and Kim’s parents sent money for a movie treat. Our friends even gifted us a 20% tip card for the meal...

Gratitude, Good Food, and Good Books

A Thanksgiving weekend of family meals, long walks, and reaching 86 books this year Bryan and I headed out for a walk after he returned from his sister’s Thanksgiving gathering, settling into a steady 30‑minute pace that carried us just under 2 km. The air was crisp with a light breeze, the kind of weather that makes movement feel effortless. I’ve always loved these cooler temperatures—my body doesn’t have to work as hard, and the transition from “easy mode” into a gentle warm‑up felt natural. Carrying 30 pounds with me added that extra layer of challenge, but it blended seamlessly into the rhythm of the walk. We paused at a park bench along the way, taking a moment to sit together before snapping a photo. That small break reminded me how these walks are as much about connection as they are about distance or weight carried. The combination of fresh air, conversation, and the grounding presence of the season made the outing feel restorative. It wasn’t just a walk—it was a reminder...
