River side plus 13 Celsius mid August

Dixie go for a swim plus 13 out of the morning around 10 am

Dixie licking her lips 👄 from chasing the ball 🏀

We get down there stay a hour.  I really enjoy 😊 it here

On the way back out of popsin park, we take a photo of Dixie laughing she had so much fun. 🤩

She was semi good 😊 she barks in the vehicle passing any dogs 🐕 and that’s very annoying.

The coulee is still very green and lush with life, not its usual dryer look of drought we are at least this time of year it doesn’t look half as bad as other years.  We even got 25 percent of our snow pack. The river looked like a foot lower than it was last week. That can be expected, yet not the disaster it was looking at the beginning of the year looking like with snow pack low and then we got so much rain 🌧️

Dixie brings the ball back every time…

Here she is diving for the ball 🏀 I toss for the shoreline.

She is a delightful dog still very young dog 🐕 in her mind.

Over all I got an ice 🧊 coffee ☕️ at Tim’s and a chocolate chip 🍪 cookie. I did not share Dixie was well barking in my ear to go to this park and I know she can’t help herself but damn this got to get treat training in vehicle and driving is impossible.

But treat training doesn’t end.  It’s an ongoing process for 🐕 dogs.  So I don’t want to think I’m that owner that neglected my dog. But she getting treats sitting 🪑 out front to behave.  Exactly how she doesn’t behave is when dogs go by. People she is happy to see. And cats 🐈 like the cat she barking at and ignoring the treats

🙄

Dixie waiting for the last few ball tosses before we go, back to the vehicle 🚗

Dixie is now out front drying off in the sun ☀️ before I go mow my lawn out back

Been delaying it all week, sort of frustrated 😩 to do it. Takes an hour and a half just to mow the back yard. 🙄

Might do it with a Rucker weight

Plus 4 Celsius 6.1 km in a hour 🏃‍♂️

Dixie and I go for a run  🏃‍♂️ Dixie and I go for a run, redo a hill run down and up again. Kim picks me up after I climb the hill, I called her and asked since I was over my hour mark, originally I wanted to do 9 km in an hour but I managed to do six km instead.  I think it was the hill climb that did it.  I ran fully down hill no problem 😌 We made good time.  For a hill run 🏃‍♂️   It looks like it will be 13 Celsius by noon but it feels warmer in the sun. ☀️  I took a picture by the usual spot that judge where the river is from other years and with that rain the last couple days it definitely looks a lot better than what it was a few weeks ago Dixie went off leash for a bit and went to the river. Must’ve been cold. I think for April water dip. I managed to bring my VO2 max up to good 😊 today, it’s the first time I’ve put it in the green since owning my second Garmin. So my goal right now is to get an endurance score over 5099 To move past ...

Walk and a run in to the vet

Another adventure for Dixie,  she is an expensive dog….🐕 We enjoy 😊 our walks. Up top of the coulee you can see the university  Sonny and I go walking the south side dog park,  it tricky terrain for sure.  It’s nice 😊 for the scenery I think, yet a bit treacherous at times.  A person has to be careful let alone a dog 🐕 being careful. Here is Sonny and I smiling giving a thumbs up to the camera 📸  The walk was decent though some difficult 😞 parts for today, Dixie is on a 14 day hiatus from walking.  She’ll probably want to go sooner rather than later. I think we’re stuck to just five minute poop 💩 walks than the hour or two hour walks we usually do. I’m unsure when it happen but my guess is near the end of the walk when I noticed it. Dixie gets to close to the bushes today, I kept looking her over but noticed a different spot on her at the end of our walk.   Dixie goes through some bushes and gouged a piece out of her. Now Dixie has th...

A fawn born on our yard

A baby fawn was born on our lawn and it’s trying to warm up in the asphalt I’m guessing it’s still warm. We’re trying to give it space hopefully it mother comes by so we’re staying inside. I just went outside for a smoke and it crawled under the vehicle 🚗 lots of people are walking by it not noticing it then others are stopping.  Quite the thing to see. A few hours old… it’s still wet with mucus on it. With Kim’s super camera zoom is we could see Fish and wild life say to call in 24 hours if animals are left by moms  So we’re hoping people leave the fawn alone.  Although it’s a super cool 😎 thing to see. I think it hoofs are still soft from being born that’s why it’s staying put since it went on that hard surface till it’s hoofs Harden. It crawled on its knees after the side walk and just hunkered down for a bit. Two hours from first spotting.  Still there hiding under the vehicle 🚗 it kind of a good spot of course there’s better picked spots but it’s half and hal...
