Plus 5 Celsius and Henderson walk

Toby and I go for a walk The dog πŸ• got her walk and I got a walk after work, destress the house tonight for being at home. 🏑  Afterword I was getting a bit frustrated and had to eat something pretty quickly cause after a full day of work being out up at five and then I walk afterwards I got hungry pretty fast. A pleasure to walk with someone for a change,  after work I take a walk with a friend I forgot to start my walk on my watch so we probably walked at least 3 km. In about 40 minutes, I say. Although 10 minutes didn’t get counted for our walk we could’ve done easily probably 3.4 km for what was tracked.😊 Dixie is climbing on the leadership board for January Dixie is now ranked 27th for the leadership board for January Only 6% above her breed right now, but I’m on my days off now so I’m hoping to catch that up with a few runs Not quite the active minutes I wanted today, but I couldn’t get into me a second lap. At home and the sun is just coming down at 5:15 tonigh...

-3 Celsius run around MT Heights

Dixie and I start running around our neighborhood. We meet Rod who did 10 km on a scooter which was impressive with his dog.  πŸ•  I only got 5 km running in. I was supposed to eat before I ran my kilometres for a long run, my legs just were done and now I gotta get ready for work.. As in making a luncheon, getting ready to get going to work. I’ll have to shower before work so I don’t have that much time. We do a couple laps around the neighbourhood and come back-and-forth just a small area for a 5 km. My watch originally you want me to my pace a bit faster so I was trying to keep up with that and do my walking in running enough that I keep up with my pace Eight minutes is a good time for pace usually, I’m up at nine minutes, upped training for me Hopefully by doing these faster runs this get me to do a pace per km in five minutes, I’ll get my 30 minutes done ✅ and go 5 km I’d like to do it once this year. I had to take a couple breaks so I sat on a bench and stopped my ...

Plus 5 Celsius

I think it got up to +9 today with the wind πŸ’¨  Slowly raising my VO two max to 41 since beginning of October.  I was at a VO two max of 31. I’ve really been trying to stay in a productive training status for the last 12 weeks. Since January started, I’ve been sort of depressed Since quitting smoking Two weeks of hard to get motivated to go outside Before I’d go outside then go for a run mid cigarette 🚬  It’s not that I won’t go outside but I hardly just pop out there and then say heck with it let’s run πŸƒ‍♂️ My long run ended a little bit shorter than I wanted to. I did come back for a glass of water and then I just decided I’d stay home..🏑  The negative self talk is real once you get stationary I just feel like I can’t get out anymore. Dixie, you came up to rank 29 on the leadership leaderboard for January. That’s one position higher than she was at. She’s doing great I think in my books.. πŸ“š  Except the second week of being in recovery hasn’t been goo...

Allyson and I walk Henderson

Plus 4 Celsius  We are in Lethbridge and getting nice weather.  Ten days after my last post.  I have gone for runs and walks between then and not as long as I wanted too, just been busy with stuff to blog.πŸ€” Nice 😊 for me anyway. I like these warmer days. Here we are by the duckpond there were we did spot a few Canadian geese, but it was mostly filled with ducks.πŸ¦†  Dixie has fallen in her leader board for January. She’s all the way up at 30 rank for the leaderboard… Gotta work our way up again. 109 active minutes it’s only 2 PM so far We walk about 3 km, in forty minutes.  A good walk, I could have convince Allyson to do another lap but I think I was happier to only do one lap. It was icy out, we both didn’t want to tempt fate and fall. We both had good shoes or boots on. Most the path was all icy, ❄️ except where the sun got to the pavement. I’ve been really working hard to stay productive for most of the last 12 weeks. But I have to say this last week...

-16 Celsius run πŸƒ‍♂️ through snow

Dixie and I run for a bit  Dixie run πŸƒ‍♂️ the first bit, then I go alone the second bit. Dixie was stopping then running and yanking to much. So I dropped her off at home. 🏑  I almost do 5 km run πŸƒ‍♂️ I do 2.5 km with the dog πŸ• and then do another 2.4 by myself.πŸ˜ƒ Dixie is rank 33 for January for the leaderboardπŸ™‚ Dixie is 14% above breed for active minutes. My laps were a little bit slower this week,  I think it’s all the sweets and stuffing and all the food I’ve been eating.  It’s slowing down my pace. On track to get another 14.3 km by Monday.  I should be well over that so I’m happy about that. Hopefully, I’ll gain another 10 km so if it goes snowboarding again, it doesn’t count my steps. That’ll get to my 50 km by the end of the week. Some of my stats that are here below ⬇️  Runtime was near a half an hour and walking time was about 10 minutes so about 1/3 ratio of walking  to running πŸƒ‍♂️. About 33% was walked and 66% was running. ...

New years, first day of the year

Another year gone by New Year’s Eve we have about six people in our house celebrating the new year. We didn’t quite make it till midnight around 7:30 people start going home. 🏑 it’s -13 Celsius today or what my watch is saying at the moment on Jan.1, 2025 🏑 it was a pleasure to have so many people come by and celebrate last day of the year with us.  Made Kim and my year special to spend it with people we know. We had an awesome time sharing stories of the year in the books we were in I got a deli tray that was gluten-free for Kim and a sandwich tray for other people that Kim can’t quite eat the sandwiches πŸ₯ͺ  We had a whole counter of chocolates and treats and candy. People brought drinks San Pellegrino. And Coca-Cola and pop and I really enjoyed our time and the company that was there This morning, I’m celebrating another day. Quit smoking. I’m past the 48 hour mark.  For still not smoking, I got a little inhaler of essential oils I’ve bit in the nicorette gum, ...
