Métis trail to coalbank gate to coalbrook gate

I get following a tracker tire 🛞 path. It’s interesting 🤨 cause the farmer 🧑‍🌾 or some one drove in to make this path right to the end of a gated road.

Do I walk the path with Dixie. To get to Métis trail.

I forgot to start my track on it when I started at it only said I did 5 km but it was more like six or seven km.

The dog tracker says 6 any way I had to run the last bit. Nothing is no more of a motivator than getting home 🏡 in timely manner. The sun ☀️ rises at six and goes down about nine now. So I was expecting to be home before nine.

I had to run. 🏃‍♂️ 🐕

I got my bpm up to 180.

Best pace was 4.22 km

I got to check my vo2 max is.

Over all a decent run,

The dog was running circles at the end while I ran home. Dixie was on a leash and wanted to faster and dinner, so she was running to me and away in circles.

A bit of fun, when I got home Kim dried off Dixie. I had to run 🏃‍♂️ in quickly out of the rain ☔️

Dixie is sleeping 💤 good and active is good 😊.

And she is above average in her active minutes.

She doing great in cooler temperatures and she really enjoyed my day off.

It says I’m productive today for training status so that makes me feel great 😊

I got to do something with my VO2 max I’ve been a long term smoker for years now decades so that don’t help but making a run at 4.22 /km pace helped.

I did run in the rain, it said it wasn’t going to rain til nine but it started at eight and I was walking by 7:30 🕢

I’ll have to do a health check today.

It sounds like you had quite the adventure with Dixie! It’s great to hear that you made it through the run, even with the unexpected rain. Running at that pace is impressive, especially if you’re working on your VO2 max. It's good to keep track of your health, especially considering your long-term smoking history.

If you’re looking to improve your VO2 max, consider incorporating interval training, cross-training, and perhaps even some strength training into your routine. Also, staying hydrated and maintaining a balanced diet can really help with your overall fitness.

Dixie sounds like a great companion; it's wonderful that she enjoyed the day with you.

AllTrails route I do another two miles total one mile there and one mile back to get.to this route. I do a mile in I think 17 minutes

Plus 4 Celsius 6.1 km in a hour 🏃‍♂️

Dixie and I go for a run  🏃‍♂️ Dixie and I go for a run, redo a hill run down and up again. Kim picks me up after I climb the hill, I called her and asked since I was over my hour mark, originally I wanted to do 9 km in an hour but I managed to do six km instead.  I think it was the hill climb that did it.  I ran fully down hill no problem 😌 We made good time.  For a hill run 🏃‍♂️   It looks like it will be 13 Celsius by noon but it feels warmer in the sun. ☀️  I took a picture by the usual spot that judge where the river is from other years and with that rain the last couple days it definitely looks a lot better than what it was a few weeks ago Dixie went off leash for a bit and went to the river. Must’ve been cold. I think for April water dip. I managed to bring my VO2 max up to good 😊 today, it’s the first time I’ve put it in the green since owning my second Garmin. So my goal right now is to get an endurance score over 5099 To move past ...

Celebrating Ten Years and Living My Best Life🧘‍♂️ A Quiet Day at Home

🎉 Celebrating 10 Years Together Last night was a beautiful celebration of a decade spent with Kim. We marked our 10-year anniversary with a cozy dinner at The Keg, where I indulged in a hearty 20 oz steak and Kim opted for a more modest 8 oz cut. It felt so good to get out together and enjoy a special evening. We kept things simple—just water to drink, with fresh bread and salad to start. The atmosphere was perfect, and I soaked in every moment of our time together. We’re incredibly grateful for our families, who made the night even more special. My parents generously gave us cash to enjoy our dinner, and Kim’s parents gifted us movie money so we could extend the celebration. Their thoughtfulness reminded us how lucky we are to be surrounded by love and support. Family and friends made it sweeter We were so blessed by our families: my parents gave us cash to enjoy the night and Kim’s parents sent money for a movie treat. Our friends even gifted us a 20% tip card for the meal...

Gratitude, Good Food, and Good Books

A Thanksgiving weekend of family meals, long walks, and reaching 86 books this year Bryan and I headed out for a walk after he returned from his sister’s Thanksgiving gathering, settling into a steady 30‑minute pace that carried us just under 2 km. The air was crisp with a light breeze, the kind of weather that makes movement feel effortless. I’ve always loved these cooler temperatures—my body doesn’t have to work as hard, and the transition from “easy mode” into a gentle warm‑up felt natural. Carrying 30 pounds with me added that extra layer of challenge, but it blended seamlessly into the rhythm of the walk. We paused at a park bench along the way, taking a moment to sit together before snapping a photo. That small break reminded me how these walks are as much about connection as they are about distance or weight carried. The combination of fresh air, conversation, and the grounding presence of the season made the outing feel restorative. It wasn’t just a walk—it was a reminder...
