Cleaned couch πŸ›‹️

This spring the couch looked like this.

So today I vacuumed and kitchen, entryway, and office.  I also mopped the office and kitchen and entry way with Lysol floor cleaning bottle.  And a water vacuum to keep the dog hair mites out of the house 🏑 and flying about out of the vacuum.  The water vacuum has a hepa filter and I also vacuumed out my other hepa filter with my rabbit air filter minus2.

It’s working a lot better now, and just prepping to rearrange the house 🏑 thanks to Bryan for helping me move a couch πŸ›‹️ in the house 🏑 August.7th at 8 pm at night.  They guy was helpful coming over to help me move it so late ⏰.

My last dog, Finn would sleep on the couch after a walks out in a wet field in mud and long grass. You were just dry off on the couch till they could come back inside or get some time to get wiped down.

He sort of ruined the couch πŸ›‹️ by couldn’t get rid of it because that was my first purchase from quitting smoking in 2007.
Has quit smoking for six months and I bought a couch from Leon’s, as I was building houses in Construction. 🦺
It really was my first piece of furniture I bought, Living on my own.

Kim and I cleaned it and finally put it in the office, and it looks like a new couch πŸ›‹️.  Well it’s newer now that it’s been cleaned 🧹.

A complete change from what it did look like, so it’s a huge success.  We think we could bring back couches from instinction to brand new as a business.  As long as it doesn’t have bed bugs.

But it’s just been a hugely recover process for the couch.  A second chance you could say.  Looks amazing though a good change.  Just took some work to do and people have said it’s surprisingly good 😊.  Looks way better and usually people don’t put in work to restore there stuff.

It made a special project for sure πŸ‘

I find it hard to see it back in the house after being in garage then the shed then garage to clean up. It’s been a rough start for the couch but a second life for it now.

It sounds like you've been through quite a journey with your couch! It's great to hear that you were able to clean it up and give it a new life, especially since it holds such sentimental value for you. It’s not just a piece of furniture; it represents a significant milestone in your life, like quitting smoking and living on your own.

It’s amazing how much a bit of cleaning and effort can transform something that seemed ruined into something that looks brand new again. Your idea of potentially turning this restoration experience into a business is intriguing! Bringing old couches back to life for others could be a unique niche, especially if you focus on quality cleaning and restoration.

Do you have any specific plans for your couch now that it's all cleaned up, or perhaps for the restoration business idea?

It’s in the office now, and I’m having a hard time leaving it to go back to bed.  πŸ›Œ it’s just restored, in my mind which I’m having lots of feelings and emotions about it. I didn’t think it’d be back in the house, honestly.

Plus 4 Celsius 6.1 km in a hour πŸƒ‍♂️

Dixie and I go for a run  πŸƒ‍♂️ Dixie and I go for a run, redo a hill run down and up again. Kim picks me up after I climb the hill, I called her and asked since I was over my hour mark, originally I wanted to do 9 km in an hour but I managed to do six km instead.  I think it was the hill climb that did it.  I ran fully down hill no problem 😌 We made good time.  For a hill run πŸƒ‍♂️   It looks like it will be 13 Celsius by noon but it feels warmer in the sun. ☀️  I took a picture by the usual spot that judge where the river is from other years and with that rain the last couple days it definitely looks a lot better than what it was a few weeks ago Dixie went off leash for a bit and went to the river. Must’ve been cold. I think for April water dip. I managed to bring my VO2 max up to good 😊 today, it’s the first time I’ve put it in the green since owning my second Garmin. So my goal right now is to get an endurance score over 5099 To move past ...

Celebrating Ten Years and Living My Best Life🧘‍♂️ A Quiet Day at Home

πŸŽ‰ Celebrating 10 Years Together Last night was a beautiful celebration of a decade spent with Kim. We marked our 10-year anniversary with a cozy dinner at The Keg, where I indulged in a hearty 20 oz steak and Kim opted for a more modest 8 oz cut. It felt so good to get out together and enjoy a special evening. We kept things simple—just water to drink, with fresh bread and salad to start. The atmosphere was perfect, and I soaked in every moment of our time together. We’re incredibly grateful for our families, who made the night even more special. My parents generously gave us cash to enjoy our dinner, and Kim’s parents gifted us movie money so we could extend the celebration. Their thoughtfulness reminded us how lucky we are to be surrounded by love and support. Family and friends made it sweeter We were so blessed by our families: my parents gave us cash to enjoy the night and Kim’s parents sent money for a movie treat. Our friends even gifted us a 20% tip card for the meal...

Gratitude, Good Food, and Good Books

A Thanksgiving weekend of family meals, long walks, and reaching 86 books this year Bryan and I headed out for a walk after he returned from his sister’s Thanksgiving gathering, settling into a steady 30‑minute pace that carried us just under 2 km. The air was crisp with a light breeze, the kind of weather that makes movement feel effortless. I’ve always loved these cooler temperatures—my body doesn’t have to work as hard, and the transition from “easy mode” into a gentle warm‑up felt natural. Carrying 30 pounds with me added that extra layer of challenge, but it blended seamlessly into the rhythm of the walk. We paused at a park bench along the way, taking a moment to sit together before snapping a photo. That small break reminded me how these walks are as much about connection as they are about distance or weight carried. The combination of fresh air, conversation, and the grounding presence of the season made the outing feel restorative. It wasn’t just a walk—it was a reminder...
