First walk of 2024 north coulee

We wave at the camera πŸ“Έ

As we make our way into the coulee.  We found a new spot to go for us to walk.

Took about thirty five minutes. I was accurate on guessing how long the walk would take.

Bryan at one point wanted to walked to take it to the hill and see if it was a short cut.

The walking majority of the party voted in favour of sticking to the pathway rather than going perhaps to some ones back yards

I think πŸ€” the start of the path would be good to go off leash but near the highway on scenic I’d be a bit nervous 😬 looking up to late seeing the dog get hit by a moving vehicle before  could call her back.

So she says on leash the whole time, I guess it happens quick.

We all made good progress today on our walk and I enjoy 😊 walking with people. So does Dixie, bless her heart ❤️.

She was full of excitement going to go get her nails done today.

Spent $180 on a toy 🧸, food, biscuits and pig ears with grooming fee.

It’s 20% off the first Tuesday of the month so I jumped on board for it to get some goods for Dixie.

Expensive dog, I’m waiting to give her toy til Kim gets home to gift it to her.

So she knows it’s from both of us.

Dixie sort of saw me buying it, so Kim can be the one to gift it.

Back to our walk talk and how long it took is.

I sort of forgot to turn it off but it was about 35 minutes of walking we did but it takes some of my drive going home til it beeps and I turned it off.

Happens all the time for me.

It sounds like you had a lovely walk today! It's great that you were able to accurately guess the timing, and it's always best to stick to the pathway for everyone's safety. Dixie must be quite special to you both if you're willing to spend so much on her, and it's sweet that you want to make sure she knows the gift is from both of you. And don't worry too much about forgetting to turn off your device; we all have little moments like this.

Plus 4 Celsius 6.1 km in a hour πŸƒ‍♂️

Dixie and I go for a run  πŸƒ‍♂️ Dixie and I go for a run, redo a hill run down and up again. Kim picks me up after I climb the hill, I called her and asked since I was over my hour mark, originally I wanted to do 9 km in an hour but I managed to do six km instead.  I think it was the hill climb that did it.  I ran fully down hill no problem 😌 We made good time.  For a hill run πŸƒ‍♂️   It looks like it will be 13 Celsius by noon but it feels warmer in the sun. ☀️  I took a picture by the usual spot that judge where the river is from other years and with that rain the last couple days it definitely looks a lot better than what it was a few weeks ago Dixie went off leash for a bit and went to the river. Must’ve been cold. I think for April water dip. I managed to bring my VO2 max up to good 😊 today, it’s the first time I’ve put it in the green since owning my second Garmin. So my goal right now is to get an endurance score over 5099 To move past ...

Celebrating Ten Years and Living My Best Life🧘‍♂️ A Quiet Day at Home

πŸŽ‰ Celebrating 10 Years Together Last night was a beautiful celebration of a decade spent with Kim. We marked our 10-year anniversary with a cozy dinner at The Keg, where I indulged in a hearty 20 oz steak and Kim opted for a more modest 8 oz cut. It felt so good to get out together and enjoy a special evening. We kept things simple—just water to drink, with fresh bread and salad to start. The atmosphere was perfect, and I soaked in every moment of our time together. We’re incredibly grateful for our families, who made the night even more special. My parents generously gave us cash to enjoy our dinner, and Kim’s parents gifted us movie money so we could extend the celebration. Their thoughtfulness reminded us how lucky we are to be surrounded by love and support. Family and friends made it sweeter We were so blessed by our families: my parents gave us cash to enjoy the night and Kim’s parents sent money for a movie treat. Our friends even gifted us a 20% tip card for the meal...

Gratitude, Good Food, and Good Books

A Thanksgiving weekend of family meals, long walks, and reaching 86 books this year Bryan and I headed out for a walk after he returned from his sister’s Thanksgiving gathering, settling into a steady 30‑minute pace that carried us just under 2 km. The air was crisp with a light breeze, the kind of weather that makes movement feel effortless. I’ve always loved these cooler temperatures—my body doesn’t have to work as hard, and the transition from “easy mode” into a gentle warm‑up felt natural. Carrying 30 pounds with me added that extra layer of challenge, but it blended seamlessly into the rhythm of the walk. We paused at a park bench along the way, taking a moment to sit together before snapping a photo. That small break reminded me how these walks are as much about connection as they are about distance or weight carried. The combination of fresh air, conversation, and the grounding presence of the season made the outing feel restorative. It wasn’t just a walk—it was a reminder...
