The Cost of Ambiguity: Wealth, Work, and the Post-Modern Bell Curve
Force majeure is a standard legal clause designed for the unthinkable—the "superior force" that frees us from liability when an extraordinary, unforeseen event makes performing our duties impossible. But what happens when the breakdown isn't an unforeseen act of God, but a slow, deliberate erosion of our shared social contract?
We live in an era saturated with noise, where language is weaponized and clarity is treated like an inconvenience. Ambiguity has become a leader’s favorite toxic trait—a mechanism to hold an insurmountable claim over our invested time and labor while shifting the goalposts of accountability. When text is stripped of its context, credibility vanishes, leaving behind a wanderer’s landscape where noise replaces substance.
The Myth of Capital vs. Labor
For decades, political discourse surrounding wealth inequality has been carefully framed around tax percentages and federal deficits. We hear ad nauseam about what the top earners contribute to income tax, while ignoring how wealth is actually generated, held, and sheltered.
The conversation shouldn't merely be about taxing the rich as a token metric; it ought to be about enriching the workforce.
Historically, labor—not passive capital—was understood as the primary generator of value. Infrastructure, highways, and public works weren't built by corporate rhetoric; they were built by the hands of the working class. Yet, a successful counter-narrative has convinced society that capital solves our problems while labor should simply be grateful for the privilege to exist.
When you raise the baseline—when you align minimum wage, disability support, senior care, and educational funding with real-world inflation—you don't just help the vulnerable; you stabilize the entire economic ecosystem. A healthy, fairly compensated populace pays into the system naturally. A squeezed populace, driven into fatigue and precarity, leaves a void that no amount of corporate tax maneuvering can patch over.
Literacy, Sophistry, and the Bell Curve
It is a bitter irony that in the most information-dense period of human history, literacy skills and critical engagement are faltering. Sophistry—the art of using clever, misleading arguments—is perhaps one of the greatest quiet threats to a functioning society. Bullshit is hazardous to public health.
Many assume that collective confusion stems from a lack of access to information. But access was never the problem. As C.S. Lewis famously observed, those who thought most of the next world often did the most for this one—not because they relied on "ghosts, goblins, and fairy tales," but because they held a higher moral standard for how human beings should treat one another in the present. When we trade deep, intentional reading for surface-level noise, we shift away from classical understanding and drift into the chaotic margins of the curve.
Reading isn't just an intellectual exercise; it’s a way to order one's roots against the surrounding chaos. It’s the refusal to let cheap rhetoric substitute for genuine knowledge.
Finding Solace in the Noise
Navigating these economic and social realities alone is exhausting. Whether it's the mental fatigue of unemployment, the fight for dignified care, or the frustration of watching public discourse devolve into theater, the weight of it all is heavy.
Sometimes, the only sensible response to the noise is to hold your tongue, seek out words that offer genuine substance—sweet to the soul and healing to the bone—and step back. On a warm autumn day, there is still power in sitting quietly, opening a book, and choosing clarity over chaos.

Force Majeure (literally "superior force") is a standard clause in contracts that frees both parties from obligation or liability when an extraordinary, unforeseen event occurs that is completely beyond their control, making it impossible to perform contract duties.

Owning 52 trillion dollars worth of wealth. In this country, and we've heard this a lot. Haven't we top 1 percent paid 10 percent of federal income taxes? Top 10 percent pay 40 percent on and on. You see for decades, the conversation about wealth and equality or whatever you want to call it in.
This country has always been centered around these few people, making all the money and all these people not making enough money. The conversation should really be about the budget deficit and the debt, because all of the money being being. Reported at the top is what is causing the debt in this country.
It's why we're 37 trillion dollars in debt, because while it's true, the top one percent pay 10 percent of the income taxes. It's also true that they make a shitload of money that they don't pay any income taxes on. They pay no taxes or other kinds of taxes, or they acquire their wealth through stock earnings and things like that.
The point is the people in the middle, the the people in the middle of the country and and the lower class as well, they would absolutely love. Wage.
And had a quality living. We wouldn't have a budget deficit. Cuz all those people would be paying income taxes. The argument from the left has always been to tax the rich. It's not to tax the rich. It's too enrich the poor. They're the ones that pay taxes. Taxing the ridge isn't going to balance the budget.
Poor people making more money balances the budget. So, if you're all about helping poor people. Taxing the ranch doesn't help poor people. Paying poor people helps poor people. And it also balances the budget.
Looks very similar in Canada
This is a provincial problem 90% adjust living minimum wage and keeping it with inflation wages and disability, education and seniors, not a federal on that is 10% just by creating it to give to the provinces
