Tim's run: Goggles, Wedges, and Handling Life's Small Outbursts

 

Welcome back to the blog! I'm balancing a busy day of appointments, but I couldn't resist sharing a quick adventure from this afternoon. I've already tackled one appointment, and I have another one coming up soon. To manage the pre-appointment stress, I took the best co-pilot I know for a walk—there's nothing like fresh air and endorphins to clear your head.

The main event, though, was our run to Tim Hortons. When I asked her if she wanted to go for a drive to get potato wedges and a drink, I practically got a round of applause. She thinks she's a shotgun rider at heart, always trying to sneak upfront, which she simply can't do. For this trip, we debuted the full setup to make sure she stayed put: a cozy back seat car seat and her new goggles.

We are working on car ride behavior, and I have to say, it went pretty good today! There was only one incident. We were driving past the neighbor's house, and their dog happened to be out. Our dogs are typically on either side of the fence and, unfortunately, are disappointingly aggressive with each other. We expected a little reaction, and sure enough, we got one decent outburst of barking as we went by, but that was it for the whole trip. Considering their history, I'll take it as a win.

We got the Tim Hortons wedges. How could anyone be stressed with this dog looking at me like this?
