Easy Effort, Good Rhythm, and Spring Energy
This afternoon’s run with Dixie was exactly what I needed — simple, steady, and full of that early‑spring energy that makes getting outside feel effortless. We headed out for a relaxed 2 km loop, and the pace reflected the intention: nothing rushed, nothing forced, just moving together and enjoying the moment.
The route wound along familiar paths, and the map from the run shows those little shifts in pace that come naturally when you’re running with a dog who’s curious about everything. Dixie kept a good rhythm beside me, happy to be out again, and the whole run had that calm, companionable feel we’ve settled into over time.
What really stood out today was how balanced the effort felt. The heart‑rate breakdown shows almost the entire run sitting right in the Easy and Aerobic zones — 10:56 in Easy and 10:26 in Aerobic — which is exactly the kind of work that builds endurance without beating up the body. It’s the kind of run that quietly stacks fitness in the background.
The run/walk chart tells the same story: 7 minutes of running, 11 minutes of walking, and a smooth alternation between the two. It wasn’t about pushing; it was about staying consistent, staying present, and letting the movement feel good.
Even the Active Intelligence summary nailed the vibe — a workout that maintains strength, boosts metabolism, and keeps the engine running. A cadence of 88 steps per minute and a 10:50/km pace fit perfectly with the easy‑effort intention.
All in all, it was a clean, refreshing 21‑minute outing. Dixie was happy, I felt good, and the numbers back up exactly what the run felt like: steady, healthy, and right where I want my training to be.

Yay πgreat walk with Dixie!!! C
