I read or watch videos saying going highway speeds for a long time makes a person tighten there abs longer to hold the bike, the dr650 is 2 inches lower than the drz400 making it easier for turns either less stress on the body to turn. So the videos go on. It’s fitness training a hour highway riding is about 500 calories per hour. That’s a big deal.
I’d like to go for rides going places the dual sport is…
The Suzuki DR650 typically achieves around **21 to 25 kilometers per liter (km/L)**, depending on riding conditions and maintenance.
The Chrysler PT Cruiser, on average, gets about **9 to 11 kilometers per liter (km/L)**, depending on the engine and model year.
**Comparison:**
- **Suzuki DR650:** 21-25 km/L
- **Chrysler PT Cruiser:** 9-11 km/L
This means the DR650 is roughly **2 times more fuel-efficient** than the PT Cruiser in metric terms.
I worked it out to be for 150,000 km just saying if I kept it that long I’d spend about $10,030 in fuel for 150,000 km in the PT cruiser
I’d spend half that in a Suzuki dr650 at about $4,800 in ten years at 150,000 km or in 15,000 km a year
So I could keep it longer, yet even if I road it for 10 years and put on 15,000 km a year on it.
That would be slot of audiobooks read while riding if i ungraded my helmet to an audio head set to take calls and listen to books. π
15,000 at 388 km one way to Lacombe bakery who be let’s round up to 800 km would be 18-19 round trips to Lacombe bakery a year.
Would be about $465 in fuel for the year at 18-19 round trips to the bakery for 15,000 km
With 33 weeks in a year that are rideable depending on weather conditions during those 33 weeks, Alberta gets more than its fair share of blue sky and sunshine. But even if we halved that due to unfavourable weather conditions I’d still be able to do those 18-19 trips in a riding season. That’s $$$ more dollars on gluten free bakery goodies
But let’s be realistic even seven trips to Lacombe bakery is a good deal and another 8 trips to the mountains would more be reasonable.
Do I think my dad needs to take down his tent π️ 4-5 times to go wall tenting or going to my in-laws trailer to visit Kim 4-5 staycation while I could come and go daily for my drives and pick take out food for camping trips at the trailer.

Can a Suzuki make 150,000 km, yes and at oil changes at every 3,500 km instead of every 7,000 km every other motorcycle does I’ll get lots more mileage from it. Yes the dr650 has a small oil filter and not that much oil to keep it clean more than the drz400 surprisingly since that bike holds its oil in the frame. The dr650 going by its specs says so that’s what I’ll follow.
Fitness, fuel efficiency at the same time there is going to be a bit more maintenance for it. Which brings me to googles ai overview
Minor things for repairs they say if I kept it maintained they really call it the poor man’s bike or something the bush pig in other places.

The bike I’m looking at π️ has so many mods done to it and for less money brand new, with only 8k on it
These bikes are know for going 150 k if well maintained and longer
It can travel 460 km on one fill cause of the 5.3 gallon gas tank with is 20.627 litres
That’s if I got 23 km per litre which is approximately between the mileage of 21-25 km per litre. With its mods
