Family reunion 2024

 Going to a trip up to Edmonton for the weekend 


Kim and I stop in Lacombe gluten free bakery 🧁 to get some treats for Kim. We take a break at a park to wait for the family reunion to start so we get at the right time.

I had a delightful time with Kim and it is a pleasure Kim could drive the entire time. Usually I’m the one driving to Edmonton and it is a nice change being a passenger.


We stay for one nights and getting back Sunday.

Nice to see family, we ate burgers 🍔 for supper there and we had a fun time.


We saw my grandparents new place. A pleasure to get coffee in the morning. Usually visit my grandparents we don’t get coffee cause they are aging but now the place has their own barista who serves us coffee.

I was happy. 😃 an adorable 🥰 place for them, the building looks wonderful designed. I think I may order them groceries so they can wait for those goodies, made Icecream with syrup and some some sandwiches 🥪.  Maybe a nice treats waiting in there new place would be a conversation started waiting for them.

Or a bag of nuts and dried out fruit from the bulk or pre package 📦. Treats coming in the delivery 🚚 is so much fun to wait and I think my grandpa would have fun getting this delivered.

I’ll have to talk it for parents today.

The family reunion was need some time to decompress the night but , the next day was way better than I would’ve imagined.

I had more fun seeing my grandparents next day cause they were in such a great mood. And seeing there new place is lots of excitement.

Today we sit out front to enjoy the sunshine and get ready for our day.

Dixie stayed with our in-laws and she was very active m. So that was a joyful exchange of time. I could share my dog to keep her active minutes up. The is so much more behaved with active minutes.

Although she didn’t sleep well with the change, it is still very much appreciated that she got to to stay with the in-laws on our trip.


We ate at a truly Italian restaurant with Kim’s colleague.  A delightful meal. Cost $67 for both Kim and I.


I ate my whole pizza 🍕, Kim and her friend had to take a care package 📦 home. 🏡 

They showed each others vehicles 🚗 they just got in the last year.

Her friend talked books with me which was lots of fun. I got a couple book recommendations to say we’re reading the same thing next time we meet.

I thought it was fun outing and a pleasure to meet Kim’s colleagues.

Plus 4 Celsius 6.1 km in a hour 🏃‍♂️

  Dixie and I go for a run  🏃‍♂️ Dixie and I go for a run, redo a hill run down and up again. Kim picks me up after I climb the hill, I called her and asked since I was over my hour mark, originally I wanted to do 9 km in an hour but I managed to do six km instead.  I think it was the hill climb that did it.  I ran fully down hill no problem 😌 We made good time.  For a hill run 🏃‍♂️   It looks like it will be 13 Celsius by noon but it feels warmer in the sun. ☀️  I took a picture by the usual spot that judge where the river is from other years and with that rain the last couple days it definitely looks a lot better than what it was a few weeks ago Dixie went off leash for a bit and went to the river. Must’ve been cold. I think for April water dip. I managed to bring my VO2 max up to good 😊 today, it’s the first time I’ve put it in the green since owning my second Garmin. Plus 12 Celsius Smoke run 🏃‍♂️

  The dog and I decided to do either a 3 km run or a 6 km run or 9 km run hoping for 10 km but I couldn’t find the energy to push further. It is smoky out there you could smell it and breath it in. Made me in my threshold if I keep a higher pace than 9 minutes km Cooler morning,  I went and got a sausage homestyle biscuit from Tim’s and an ice coffee ☕️  Just getting my day started. I got a doctors appointment later today over the phone 📞 also. Hoping to take the dog 🐕 for a run 🏃‍♂️ this morning but I’m stiff. So hopefully my coffee stop warms me up to get moving this morning. Or just caffeinates me. We managed to do 6.05 km in about 59 minutes. A high heart rate of 172 bpm and an average of 144 bpm. Plus 12 Celsius while I ran but I was in full sweating 😅 by the time I got home 🏡. The last couple weeks I’ve had a low relative effort due to some family losses. A fawn born on our yard

A baby fawn was born on our lawn and it’s trying to warm up in the asphalt I’m guessing it’s still warm. We’re trying to give it space hopefully it mother comes by so we’re staying inside. I just went outside for a smoke and it crawled under the vehicle 🚗 lots of people are walking by it not noticing it then others are stopping.  Quite the thing to see. A few hours old… it’s still wet with mucus on it. With Kim’s super camera zoom is we could see Fish and wild life say to call in 24 hours if animals are left by moms  So we’re hoping people leave the fawn alone.  Although it’s a super cool 😎 thing to see. I think it hoofs are still soft from being born that’s why it’s staying put since it went on that hard surface till it’s hoofs Harden. It crawled on its knees after the side walk and just hunkered down for a bit. Two hours from first spotting.  Still there hiding under the vehicle 🚗 it kind of a good spot of course there’s better picked spots but it’s half and hal...
