A new year in two days, and chores still need to be done

After, toilets dishes, laundry, and clearing off the table.  Almost the laundry, there's quite a story for that, fire prevention that I found it sooner.

So a big task of laundry.

I get doing laundry and washing pillows then a mini flood case a pillow spun out the top wash and blocked the water disposer from the top of the washer.  As water splashed out of the top of the washer.

Then I found the dryer was not going outside, and going behind the dryer. Which then I panicked when I saw that. Cause water lint it was a mess. Plus the pile of clean clothes was in front of the wash.

As I put all the clothes on the bed πŸ›Œ, move shelves the whole project took moving everything out.

The whole reason the lint went everywhere was it fell off its hose outside.  Why you ask. Cause it got pushed over to fit the shelf.

Yeah. That shelf has been here since we moved so it was a lint mess.

A moment where I was sweating cleaning the house 🏠.

Yet my bpm did not go up in the 170-180 bpm.

It stayed in the 120-130.

And I only had two to three smokes in it all.

Good

This is a Quebec pdf, that is a helpful look to quit

Good read bupropion helps me not smoke most days.  If I weren't on that I would most definitely be a pack or two usually, I quit and I got massively depressed after struggling for months.  I started talking things out, a prescription of altered a problem ⚠️

I wore the nicotine patch all day.  I hear some people never get off of nicotine.  I just can't get off or I would smoke.  So I stay on it.

After a day like today, I am happy I am not smoking like I used to.

There is only so much budget for smoking.

I broke down my cost of spending on cigs and wanted to tell you.  Maybe you'd like to smoke a bit moderately.  Nicotine replacement therapy is 1/2 the cost of smoking.

I spent $120 on 8 packs of 20 cigarette packs.  Which I usually buy a smokes at the darkest time of year even with quitting for 3 years.  Just can't make it through the dark days.

$50 on a box of patches

$140 off of the Juul website. For 8 packs of Juul 4 pods.

That gave me about $290 total cost.

That's my December spending.  And I used to be a 9 pack 25 cigs a week. That would add up to $600 a month quickly by months end.

Usually I am spending about a 6 dollar a day allowance on tobacco.  This month $9.6 usually I can count on $3 less.

That's a huge decrease. From the $20 dollar a day spending.

Hope you try to change your habits this new year.

The hardest part is planning for quitting smoking.

Some people never quit nicotine replacement or smoking for that matter.  Yet when it's the darkest days of the year I usually cave and buy smokes.  You just have to say the next cigarette I will vape instead.  And try to make a pack last 3-4 days instead of 1 day and less. That would cut costs in half with vaping.

It's not easy but hopefully, moderation will be helpful.

Wanted to share my breakdown to show the possibility if you attempted it.

January is plans of no smoking and I got other nicotine replacement to bump up the nicotine use, for these next months of winter. January will be lower cost.

The cost I've spent over 3 years and 9 months is 1/3 the cost I would of 😡 .

Dixie and I go for a walk in the dark in the park after supper. I put a whole chicken πŸ—  on, and 🍚 rice.

After cleaning up Kim vacuum seals the other birds.

A chicken frozen to another chicken is a hard thing to vacuum seal.

Yet a bit of help from a guy like me and those two birds was separated.

I thought I got lots done today.

The tipping point for my friend is.

  • A: when am I going to get over the pandemic and do my best with myself through it.
  • B: Or give up mentally and physically emotionally, we have seen this everywhere no one is exempt from the stress.

Here are the doodles that I did today to get motivated for stuff.

Journal is the only place I feel as a King does.

Plus 4 Celsius 6.1 km in a hour πŸƒ‍♂️

Dixie and I go for a run  πŸƒ‍♂️ Dixie and I go for a run, redo a hill run down and up again. Kim picks me up after I climb the hill, I called her and asked since I was over my hour mark, originally I wanted to do 9 km in an hour but I managed to do six km instead.  I think it was the hill climb that did it.  I ran fully down hill no problem 😌 We made good time.  For a hill run πŸƒ‍♂️   It looks like it will be 13 Celsius by noon but it feels warmer in the sun. ☀️  I took a picture by the usual spot that judge where the river is from other years and with that rain the last couple days it definitely looks a lot better than what it was a few weeks ago Dixie went off leash for a bit and went to the river. Must’ve been cold. I think for April water dip. I managed to bring my VO2 max up to good 😊 today, it’s the first time I’ve put it in the green since owning my second Garmin. So my goal right now is to get an endurance score over 5099 To move past ...

Celebrating Ten Years and Living My Best Life🧘‍♂️ A Quiet Day at Home

πŸŽ‰ Celebrating 10 Years Together Last night was a beautiful celebration of a decade spent with Kim. We marked our 10-year anniversary with a cozy dinner at The Keg, where I indulged in a hearty 20 oz steak and Kim opted for a more modest 8 oz cut. It felt so good to get out together and enjoy a special evening. We kept things simple—just water to drink, with fresh bread and salad to start. The atmosphere was perfect, and I soaked in every moment of our time together. We’re incredibly grateful for our families, who made the night even more special. My parents generously gave us cash to enjoy our dinner, and Kim’s parents gifted us movie money so we could extend the celebration. Their thoughtfulness reminded us how lucky we are to be surrounded by love and support. Family and friends made it sweeter We were so blessed by our families: my parents gave us cash to enjoy the night and Kim’s parents sent money for a movie treat. Our friends even gifted us a 20% tip card for the meal...

Gratitude, Good Food, and Good Books

A Thanksgiving weekend of family meals, long walks, and reaching 86 books this year Bryan and I headed out for a walk after he returned from his sister’s Thanksgiving gathering, settling into a steady 30‑minute pace that carried us just under 2 km. The air was crisp with a light breeze, the kind of weather that makes movement feel effortless. I’ve always loved these cooler temperatures—my body doesn’t have to work as hard, and the transition from “easy mode” into a gentle warm‑up felt natural. Carrying 30 pounds with me added that extra layer of challenge, but it blended seamlessly into the rhythm of the walk. We paused at a park bench along the way, taking a moment to sit together before snapping a photo. That small break reminded me how these walks are as much about connection as they are about distance or weight carried. The combination of fresh air, conversation, and the grounding presence of the season made the outing feel restorative. It wasn’t just a walk—it was a reminder...
