Garden Toiling

Get in the garden from all the rain.
Kim here picking the lettuce.
Here I am smoking a cigar while weeding.

I get gardening 😁. I ate cabbage last night that got frozen from expiring.  I out it in the freezer then pulled it out and fried it up in bacon fat.

Put the cabbage to one side of the pan threw in three eggs scrambled those in stripes.  Then made a fried cabbage with egg chow.

The eggs turned green from the cabbage, I guess where green eggs and ham saying comes from.
I figure one could plant cabbage fry it up after you freeze it for winter storage.  All one has to do is have enough produce to last all winter.  I guess why jam is such a great kid mind cause it's the sugar one needs in the winter to keep going.

I see the gold in it, and go planting all year I could keep most my food all winter if I did it correct.

I am planning box planters and I figure they way to sell it is sod is cheap to replace it.  We are thinking of renting for 9 years at least with Dixie.  Solid renters for then.

Maybe after we will move into a condo and live a little cheaper for housing.

Yet a garden that 6 box planters that are 3 foot by 3 foot would take 1/8 of the yard do 12 box planters it would take 1/4 of the yard.  That huge lawn mowing turning into weeding.  I figure that would be great.  I could turn lots of the planters into tobacco.  Others into cabbage to freeze for winter.  I am all ready picking up the right pallets for easy assembly for another France around the boxes.  Purchase a little more wood and it's it's done.  Build for next year.
I all ready have decided weeding in raised boxed beds is easier on what I read.

And I like weeding more than mowing the lawn.  I always feel tense going over with the lawn mower.  Getting it done is easy. I only see more use out of a garden.

Will have to talk out the idea.  Doing it would take out the dog and make a very useful dog run.

Which I am excited that half the run would be complete connected to the garden.  I spent a good couple hours.  Now to get the lawn mowed.

Maybe next year I will have a little less lawn to mow.  And a little more garden to manage.  I like that idea.

And if that fails to convince, sod is cheap!  So if seed to take the dirt and put it in the garden or behind a house in a field.

Any way to sell the box planters idea with refurbishing pallets that I'm building up this year for.  Is getting use out of it for a whole year.

We have a counter full of lettuce.  I don't think we can freeze lettuce yet I am such I can trade a basket of lettuce for Jam.

There's an idea.

Yet a garden if we do more out is 1/4 off the time for other renters to pay for lawn maintenance. That would be a monthly expenses.
Doing it your self would lower rent.  Anyway, I feel I am very flexible on the idea. I would even put LED lights on it for the night light.  That would be a cool fixture.  We do have some solar lights around the garden now and it looks phenomenal at night. Maybe I will try to tag a photo of it tonight to share later.

Plus 4 Celsius 6.1 km in a hour 🏃‍♂️

Dixie and I go for a run  🏃‍♂️ Dixie and I go for a run, redo a hill run down and up again. Kim picks me up after I climb the hill, I called her and asked since I was over my hour mark, originally I wanted to do 9 km in an hour but I managed to do six km instead.  I think it was the hill climb that did it.  I ran fully down hill no problem 😌 We made good time.  For a hill run 🏃‍♂️   It looks like it will be 13 Celsius by noon but it feels warmer in the sun. ☀️  I took a picture by the usual spot that judge where the river is from other years and with that rain the last couple days it definitely looks a lot better than what it was a few weeks ago Dixie went off leash for a bit and went to the river. Must’ve been cold. I think for April water dip. I managed to bring my VO2 max up to good 😊 today, it’s the first time I’ve put it in the green since owning my second Garmin. So my goal right now is to get an endurance score over 5099 To move past ...

Walk mid October with my Mom

Walks with my mom The water looks like glass just crystal smooth.  My mom and I are walking to the river and in life. It’s like we’re always walking away.  Getting closer to the end, my poet mind says.   I say I got to enjoy these walks and I was silent most the walk just trying to enjoy 😊 my time with her. Or walk end more so with 🐾 paw printed pants 👖 from dogs jumping.  We say maybe a dozen dogs 🐕. A wonderful time.  I often thought it was too early to spell like alcohol.  But surprised to pass another walker, but each to their own I probably smell like an ashtray. Although I never smoked or chewed tobacco on my walk.  I just want to walk with my mom.  Often times I don’t think I could spit out everything I wanted to say so much so that I just said in these moments you don’t have to chew tobacco and say anything. Dixie and both us individually by the fallen tree arch. A path going to the river, under which most the trees 🌳 there are...

Walk and a run in to the vet

Another adventure for Dixie,  she is an expensive dog….🐕 We enjoy 😊 our walks. Up top of the coulee you can see the university  Sonny and I go walking the south side dog park,  it tricky terrain for sure.  It’s nice 😊 for the scenery I think, yet a bit treacherous at times.  A person has to be careful let alone a dog 🐕 being careful. Here is Sonny and I smiling giving a thumbs up to the camera 📸  The walk was decent though some difficult 😞 parts for today, Dixie is on a 14 day hiatus from walking.  She’ll probably want to go sooner rather than later. I think we’re stuck to just five minute poop 💩 walks than the hour or two hour walks we usually do. I’m unsure when it happen but my guess is near the end of the walk when I noticed it. Dixie gets to close to the bushes today, I kept looking her over but noticed a different spot on her at the end of our walk.   Dixie goes through some bushes and gouged a piece out of her. Now Dixie has th...
