Mid Summer River

 We go down to the river after a day of work


The river is another place in Lethbridge.  A nice 😊 change from the city life.  During these weekdays it’s not as busy as the weekends.

Only one other person at the river besides us.  I only saw one vehicle 🚗 and no one was there. And the owner left the back of his truck open.  Weird I know, quick access for the dog.  I’m sure he did it on purpose, it’s one of those things you wouldn’t do unless old or intoxicated.  We left it but SUV was gone when we got back to our vehicles 🚗.

Made walking back easier, I enjoyed it.  I got enough sun and my watch charged an extra day on how much sun we got in that hour.

After I have to drive my mom, to pick up her vehicle.  The timing worked out good.  Cause on my way back I picked her up.  She watered my plants out front.

A good day I’d say, enough sun and good company.  Now I’m waiting for Kim to come home and visit with her.  Hear about her day.

 A Thanksgiving weekend of family meals, long walks, and reaching 86 books this year Bryan and I headed out for a walk after he returned from his sister’s Thanksgiving gathering, settling into a steady 30‑minute pace that carried us just under 2 km.  After seven weeks of setbacks and recovery, I laced up with Dixie and reclaimed my rhythm—3.64 km of steady effort, heart in the aerobic zone, and a reminder that progress starts with showing up. This afternoon, Dixie and I laced up and headed out for a run while the daylight was still holding on. It felt so good to be back out there after a bit of a break, moving at our own pace and enjoying the fresh air together. There’s something about running with Dixie that makes the effort lighter—her energy and joy keep me motivated, even when I’m easing back into the rhythm. At first, I thought about pushing myself to five kilometers, but I remembered the back pain I’ve been dealing with and decided to listen to the advice of my AI fitness coach: don’t overdo it on the first run back. Plus 4 Celsius 6.1 km in a hour 🏃‍♂️

  Dixie and I go for a run  🏃‍♂️ Dixie and I go for a run, redo a hill run down and up again. Kim picks me up after I climb the hill, I called her and asked since I was over my hour mark, originally I wanted to do 9 km in an hour but I managed to do six km instead.  I think it was the hill climb that did it.  I ran fully down hill no problem 😌 We made good time.  For a hill run 🏃‍♂️   It looks like it will be 13 Celsius by noon but it feels warmer in the sun. ☀️  I took a picture by the usual spot that judge where the river is from other years and with that rain the last couple days it definitely looks a lot better than what it was a few weeks ago Dixie went off leash for a bit and went to the river. Must’ve been cold. I think for April water dip. I managed to bring my VO2 max up to good 😊 today, it’s the first time I’ve put it in the green since owning my second Garmin.
